Role: Provide single point of authority, engagement and enablement for the Development Team.
Responsibilities:
· Develops, manages, and prioritizes the learning plan (for all projects).
· Ensure that the project team remains on plan and completes the project on time (shared
responsibility with ID).
· Addresses and resolves project issues within team, escalating issues to Project Owner.
Avoid:
· Providing last minute input that supersedes previously agreed upon content.
· Overriding authority of designated ID.
· Not championing the agreed upon deliverables and associated timelines.
Project Owner
Role: Provide single point of authority, engagement and enablement for the Organizational Team.
Responsibilities:
· Provide single source of project authority for Organization (makes all final decisions and final
sign-off).
· Understand and champion the Organizational training request (establish project goals,
requirements, and final deliverables)
· Develop detailed training requirements to be used in development
· Establish (with Dev Team) all deliverables and associated timelines.
· Designate Primary SME (this person must be given the time and space to complete SME
responsibilities)
· Commit the necessary resources to ensure the project is successful (SME, source documents,
resource access). This includes giving the single source SME authority to make edits and
communicate directly with project ISD.
· Keep informed of all aspects of project progress, cascading information to others within the
Organization
· Identify and resolve any project issues and risks
Avoid:
· Being disconnected from development process, providing only last minute input and reviews that
supersedes previously agreed upon content.
· Overriding authority of designated SME.
· Changing or adding SME’s towards end of project.
· Not championing the agreed upon deliverables and associated timelines.
SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Role: Provide the knowledge and expertise for the specific project subject.
Responsibilities:
· Discharge the duties assigned/delegated by the Project Owner.
· Coordinates all Organizational reviews and input. This is the single point of contact between the
ID and Organizational Team (all reviews, edits, project inputs must come through Primary SME).
· Communicates project status and issues to Project Owner.
· Collaborates with Project Team members.
· Provide all source content and data.
· Develop (in conjunction with ID) learning objectives and content flow.
· Maintain reasonable access (to ID) for all questions and requests pertaining to project subject.
· Review all developed content in a timely (agreed upon) manner.
· Ensure all content is relevant, up to date and technically accurate.
· Sign off on developed content.
Avoid:
· Late and/or incomplete reviews and feedback.
· Reviewing outside the scope of technical accuracy.
ID (Instructional Designer)
