• The IDEAS/EWB exhibition introduced learners and general public to the concept of waste to energy.
How biogas energy can be introduced into South Africa's energy mix and help to relieve pressure on
Eskom's exceedingly high supply demand. The learners were taught that biogas technology can easily
be applied in informal settlements and rural areas where organic waste is easily available and there is
no formal waste management program. The learners were fascinated by the possibility of being able
to to completely power up an entire household with material that is largely considered garbage.

2022 Annual social media report

2022 saw us growing our UNISA CSET social media pages in an upward. The following on the pages is
currently on 6342 followers for Facebook and 1988 for Twitter from the initial 5584 and 1637 followers in
January 2022. We have managed to grow our social media pages by staying active on both platforms, this
meant regular posting of relevant & fresh content, conducting thorough research through the use of web
analytics to identify correct posting times for maximum target audience reach & engagement. We have
remained responsive in addressing queries posed by our followers mostly on the Facebook inbox, that are
based on subject and qualication related content or replying to their comments. UNISA radio also played an
excellent role by inviting us for interviews regularly, sharing our interviews and their social media on their social
media pages and this also helped increase our followership. As CSET social media marketing we have created
a culture that allows followers to feel free to engage us directly and this is what has led to the increase in our
