Removal of above ceiling services Isolation certificate must be issued prior to removal for

water, gas and electrical.
An exclusion zone will be created to prevent others from walking
underneath the units whilst they are being brought down.
Fan coil units to be removed from ceiling services will normally be

attached by hangers.
Prior to fan coil removal all the ducting and associated pipework will
need to be disconnected to free up the unit.

The works will be planned with the site manager to methodically
remove the sections back from the AHU’s following the ducting
where possible.
The site supervisor will carry out a dynamic risk assessment as the
works progress to make sure the hazards of falling material and safe
access is always controlled. He will be competent enough to
understand the risk of where items that are hung could potential

swing if not properly controlled and cut correctly.

Make sure the correct access equipment is used and checked
