Mindtree co-founder Subroto Bagchi to head Odisha Skill
Development Authority
IT major Mindtree co-founder Subroto Bagchi has been appointed as head of the Odisha Skill Development
Authority. He would report directly to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and has been given the rank of
cabinet minister with a token monthly salary of Re 1. Bagchi was born in Patnagarh block of backward
Bolangir district of Odisha.

Indian Academician Radha Kumar appointed to UN University Council
Indian academician Radha Kumar was appointed as United Nation's University Council along with other
11 people by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. They will serve for terms of either three or six years
and shall formulate its principles and policies, consider and approve biennial budget and work
programme.
Prior to this appointment she was serving as the Director General of New Delhi-based think tank Delhi Radha Kumar
Policy Group. She is a specialist in peacemaking, ethnic conflicts and peace-building. She is former
Director of the Mandela Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at Jamia Millia Islamia University.
Rahul Johri BCCI appoints Rahul Johri as its first CEO
Rahul Johri has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Board of Control for
Cricket in India (BCCI). Mr. Johri will report to the BCCI secretary and shall be given freedom to work
independently in BCCI's set-up that was traditionally controlled by honorary office-bearers.
In his new role he will be responsible for the smooth functioning of operations, stakeholder management
of BCCI and building robust strategies for further promoting the sport of cricket. Prior to this appointment,
Mr. Johri had served as Discovery Networks Asia Pacific's executive vice-president and general manager
for South Asia.
Union Government appoints Susmita Pande as chairperson of Susmita Pande
National Monument Authority
The Union Government has appointed Susmita Pande as the new chairperson of the National Monument
Authority (NMA). She will succeed Himanshu Prabha Ray and shall fill the post which was lying vacant
for five months after demission of Ray from office. She is professor a professor at Ujjain's Vikram
University. At the time of her appointment, she was the head of the School of Studies in Ancient Indian
History, Culture and Archaeology in Vikram University of Madhya Pradesh.
MeeranBorwankar Union Government appoints Meeran Borwankar as DG of BPR&D
Union Government has appointed senior IPS officer Ms. Meeran C. Borwankar as the Director General
(DG) in the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D). Her name for this post was cleared by
the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) chaired by Prime Minster Narendra Modi. She will
have tenure of till the date of her superannuation i.e. till 30th September 2017. Ms. Borwankar is an
Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1981 batch of Maharashtra cadre.
