• Wash your hands frequently with soap & water for 20 seconds or use
alcohol-based sanitizers containing at least 70% alcohol,
• Do not allow visitors, only those who live in your home should be allowed
to stay.
• Wear a face-mask when in the same room (or vehicle) as other people.
• At home, you should stay in your own room and use your own bathroom.
If you live in shared accommodation you should stay in your room with
the door closed, only coming out when necessary, wearing a face-
mask.
• Practice good hygiene by coughing or sneezing into a tissue, discarding
it immediately afterwards in a lined bin, then wash your hands
• If you need to wash the laundry at home then wash at the highest
temperature compatible for the fabric (above 60° C). Tumble dry and
iron using the highest setting compatible with the fabric.
• You should avoid sharing household items like dishes, cups, eating
utensils and towels. After using any of these, the items should be washed
with soap and hot water.
• High-touch surfaces like tabletops, counters, toilets, phones, computers,
etc. should be frequently cleaned.
These measures should be adhered to until you have been cleared by your
doctor or have received a negative COVID-19 test.
A return to work policy for staff who have been infected and
recovered from COVID-19 should be in place.
WHO recommends that a confirmed case could be released from isolation
once:
- their symptoms resolve, and they have two negative PCR tests at least 24
hours apart;
- If testing is not possible, WHO recommends that a confirmed patient can
be released from isolation 14 days after symptoms resolve.
