The only place arranged with more or less order, was the wide hall that counted with a
game of elbow chairs, coffee table and reading lamp. Next to my favourite divan, the window
allowed to see the slope of a small hill which feet, imposing and majestic, is the equestrian
statue of the General Martín Miguel de Güemes. I sat there, prey of a very special feeling, as
you’ll see then in the relation, I stayed many hours; until the phenomenons occurred.
But let’s go step by step; were the 12 o’clock at night and I, retaking my previous
thoughts, wondered obsessively: I must request for help. But, to whom?
As always happens, when man if facing situations that surpasses him and claims for
external help, remains inevitably settled the moral problem; is the ancient confrontation
between good and evil. In these cases the fundamental principle that must prevail in the
judgement about the «friendship» or the «enmity» of the Potencies to whom we ask for, is the
discernment. When a «law» is precise, in successes that must be faced juridically for example,
the discernment is automatic, rational we’d say. In the complex legislative drama, thousands of
intertwined laws qualitative and hierarchically regulate the behaviour of man in the civilized
society. There are typo juridical «figures» that permit to orientate the judgement and
determine with precision if what a man does is good or bad: is good if it not produce
contradictions demonstrable juridically, it is bad if it miss the law.
This about the behaviour of men adjusted collectively to «law». In the individual sphere
of the subject, generally ignorant of the great variety of statutes that regulate the Law, is
guided according to his «moral consciousness». This concept alludes to the fact to be member of
the human society, as for the cultural transference of generations of ancestors as for the
education or simply imitation of the neighbour, trains man in the exercise of a kind of
conditioned moral reflect that acts, finally, as an intuition (moral consciousness or «voice of
the consciousness»). But it wouldn’t be a real intuition but the appearance of it and what would
occur would be that an stratum of moral experiences, assimilated by the mentioned means or
by any other and reduced to the unconscious level, would act automatically guiding the reason
in the discernment of the established oppositions and determining the logic of the reason.
It is understood that as more «automatically» is unchained this psychological
mechanism, more debilitated is the will to discern. The preference or commodity to live in
dwelled settlements or cities, talk about the predominance of these unconscious processes and
explains the fear to face original situations or circumstances where the discernment could fail.
Thence the fallacy to believe that the civic «habitat», cultural ambit par excellence,
makes the man more «equilibrated», when the truth is that the individual of the rural
environments usually possesses a moral discernment more accurate, not rational but emanated
from the depths of the Spirit.
