Evangeline Downs Futurity-G3

Alack of experience did not prevent Rumor Goin Round from scoring a breakthrough victory on Dec. 12 at Evangeline Downs. Despite making just the second start of her career, the two-year-old filly surprised as the winner of the $317,265 Evangeline Downs Derby-G3 as a 13-1 longshot.
Drawing the inside starting gate, the filly broke near the back of the field in eighth but surged, grabbing a 1/2-length lead by the time she reached the first call.
Her advantage doubled to a full length as she entered the stretch, and she continued to pull away from the field during the final yards, sporting a 1 1/4-length margin by the time she reached the finish line.
The victory produced a $158,633 for win- ning owner Juan Manuel Pastrana, in addi- tion to paying off handsomely at the betting window. The lifetime earnings of Rumor Goin Round swelled to $159,633 with this result.
