 B F Phillips Jr Stakes-RG3
TRUMP MY RECORD
by John Moorehouse
Trump My Record showed his championship form in the final out of his sophomore cam- paign, going wire-to-wire in a rather dominant performance in the $100,000 B.F. Phillips, Jr. Stakes-RG3, held Nov. 21 at Lone Star Park.
Being the overwhelming post-time favorite at 3-10 odds, Trump My Record was the betting favorite for the 14th straight race.
He showed why he had such billing from the start. Trump My Record
broke on top from the 1-post and led at every call of
the 400-yard race, open-
ing a 3-length lead by the time he entered the stretch and coasting to a 2-length victory.
Jose Sanchez III trains Trump My Record, who navigated a fast track in :19.483, registering a 103 speed index. Eddie Sanchez was in the irons.

JESS B ONE
by Michael Cusortelli
Campaigned by Gene Cox, fourth-fastest qualifier Jess B One dug in at the wire to win the $111,180 Evangeline Downs Derby-G3
on Dec. 12.
Ridden by Juan Francisco Garcia Jr. for
trainer Trey Ellis, Jess B One went 400 yards in :19.639, and his margin of victory was a neck from 42-1 longshot and ninth-fastest qualifier Wager On Your Wagon. The gelding earned a 95 speed index and the $55,590 winner’s share of the purse from his first
stakes score.
Raced in three states,
including New Mexico and Oklahoma, Jess B One has won three of 13 outs and has banked $187,380, of which $114,035 has been pocketed from 10 starts this year.
Jess B One was bred in Oklahoma by Homer A. Hill. His dam, Jess B Mighty, won the 2010 Oklahoma- Bred Derby at Will Rogers
The three-year-old gelding has been
almost automatic since making his debut in March of last year, now holding 13 wins in 16 lifetime starts. Named the AQHA Champion Two-Year-Old Gelding in 2019, Trump My Record gained notice by winning five consecu- tive races during his stellar rookie campaign.
At Lone Star Park, Trump My Record notched the fifth stakes victory of his career—
all of them in restricted or graded events. He added to that total this year, winning the Firecracker Derby at Delta Downs back in August. Owner Gilbert Pacheco III banked a $64,000 payday that pushed the gelding’s total bankroll closer to seven figures at $979,068.
Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP bred Trump My Record out of Breck N Records, a 2012 mare owned by Victor
Downs and was a finalist in the 2009 Retama Park Futurity-G1.
Jess B One is a half-brother to two stakes- placed runners, including 2018 Remington Park Futurity-RG2 runner-up Jess Let It B. The gelding’s second dam, Mighty B Doll, ran third in the 1992 West Texas Futurity-G1 at Sunland Park. Mighty B Doll produced a total of five stakes winners, including Mighty Invictus, a full brother to Jess B Mighty, who
won the 2005 Dash For Cash Derby-G1 at Lone
Star Park and was a finalist in World Champion DM Shicago’s 2004 All American Futurity-G1 victory.
Wager On Your Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon- Sheza Shy Shahayla) earned $18,901 for his owner, Jose Ernesto Guzman, who purchased the gelding for $25,000 at the 2018 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Antonio
Diaz. Lightly-raced herself, Breck N Records has produced 100% winners from two starters.
Carry The Memories (Dash Master Jess- Processing Speed) ran a steady second for the entire race for owners Scarlett Hill Farm Inc., Cesar Rosales, and Rolando Almanza. The latter also trains the gelding. Ricardo Garza-Cruz
did the riding. Sarah Huskey owns third-
place finisher Serendipity Rocks (Rock Solid Jess-Precious Serendipity), who won last year’s version of this race. Esteban Rubio is the trainer and Francisco Ramirez Jr. was in the irons.
The remaining order of finish was Easy Blinkers (Dealagame-Wide Open Effort), Clever Seis Cartel (Tres Seis-Cash Cartel), Katch This Bird (One Famous Eagle-First Prize Joy) and This Guys A Volcom (Volcom-Kimbo Cartel). Jordan Eagle and Kiss My Whuut both were scratched.
Alberto rode Wager On Your Wagon for trainer Alonso Neri. The gelding has won or placed in five of his six starts this year.
Edward H. Scott’s Wagons Dash (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Breitling Time), the 2-1 favorite, ran third, 1/2-length behind Jess B One. Everardo Rodriguez rode the gelding
for trainer Eric Long. Wagons Dash was a runner-up in the Dash For Cash Derby-G2, Jack Brooks Stakes and Easy Jet Stakes. He also finished fourth in the Black Gold 350 Futurity.
