WF TURNPIKE CANDY

Making the 11th start of his career, Painted Faith Racing’s WF Turnpike Candy earned his second lifetime stakes victory in the 350-yard Lone
Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Lone Star Park on Nov. 15.
WF Turnpike Candy defeated Seperate Wagons by a head in :17.740. WF Turnpike Candy earned
a 93 speed index and the $25,525 winner’s share of
a $67,170 purse. Juan Pulido rode the gelding for trainer Dee Keener. The third-fastest qualifier, the gelding was coming off of a second-place finish in the first of two trials on Oct. 31.
WF Turnpike Candy has won four races, includ- ing the $103,200 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity-G1 as the fastest qualifier at Remington Park, and he has banked $106,220.
WF Turnpike Candy was bred by Steve Wright and Dee Keener. The gelding’s dam, SW Eye Candy, is a stakes-winner. Raced from 2011-12, SW Eye Candy earned $78,253 from 16 starts and won the 2011 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Sprint Futurity-G1.
Seperate Wagons APHA (Little PYC-Sallye Rand QH) finished second for his owner Ervey F. Balderas. Ricardo Garza-Cruz rode the gray gelding for trainer Abraham Rangel. Victor R. Villarreal’s VP Cold Strong Heart APHA (This Cartel Is Cold QH-Double Dashing Girl) finished third, a neck behind WF Turnpike Candy. Rodrigo Vallejo rode the homebred filly for trainer Martin Rodriguez.
WB Stevie Nix APHA (CRM Livewire-Zoomin Moon) ran fourth and was followed by Tales U Lose APHA (Wagon Tales QH-Elaina Go Go), Break

No Mires A La Luna earned his sec- ond career stakes win in the $30,000 Namehimastreaker New Mexico Cup
Championship at Zia Park on Nov. 9. Prepped by Fred Danley for owners David G.
Valdez and Byron Woodard, No Mires A La Luna defeated 17-10 favorite Jess A Satin Flash by a neck in :22.088. Sergio Becerra Jr. rode the gelding, who earned the $17,280 winner’s share of a $30,000 purse and his first victory in six races at the classic quarter- mile distance.
No Mires A La Luna was bred by Byron Woodard. The gelding is out of winner Dont Looke Ethel. She has produced 100% money earners from two starters. No Mires A La Luna is her first stakes winner.
Campaigned exclusively in New Mexico, No Mires A La Luna has banked $448,431 from 19
outs, and his three wins include a neck victory in last year’s 400-yard $198,000 Zia Derby-RG2 at Ruidoso Downs. His resume also includes a third-place finish in the 2018 All American Futurity-G1.
Jess A Satin Flash (First Moonflash-Jess Satin) was 2nd. Alejandro Medellin rode the gelding for owner Bertha S. Irigoyen and trainer Rene Saucedo. Jess A Satin Flash won multiple stakes, including
the Zia Handicap-G2. Marcus Medallion (Jesse James Jr-Houstons Medallion) ran 3rd for owner and trainer Jaime Aldavaz Sr. Adrian Ramos rode the gelding, who has won multiple stakes, including Zia Handicap-G2. CD Mamas Boy (First Moonflash- Mama Rosa B) finished fourth. In a deadheat for 5th were Magnifico Dragon (Zulu Dragon-Cassies Mag) & Daddys Wine (Big Daddy Cartel-Fine Wines).

DIAMOND AND A HALF

Asharp break from her outside post helped Antonio Gomez’s Diamond And A Half win the $30,000 New Mexico Filly & Mare Championship-RG1 at Zia Park on Dec. 7.
Ridden by Tanner Thedford, Diamond And A Half covered 400 yards in :19.259, and her margin
of victory was a nose from Famous Julia. Jorge Luis Hernandez prepped the brown 4-year-old daughter of Champion Aged Stallion First Moonflash, and the filly banked the $17,520 winner’s share of the purse.
Diamond And A Half was stretching out in distance off of her third-place finish in the 350-yard $27,000 New Mexico Cup Distaff Stakes at Zia Park on Nov. 9.
Diamond And A Half has raced in three states, including Oklahoma and Texas. She has won six of 17 starts, including the $50,000 Balloon City Stakes at Albuquerque Downs on Aug. 15, and she has total earnings of $141,548.
The filly was bred by Mark and Annette McCloy out of winner Cuz Shes Famous. The mare has produced 100% money earners from three starters, including Las Americas Futurity winner Cuz My Daddys Famous. Diamond And A Half is her second stakes winner and top money earner.
Famous Julia (Dash For Famous-Julia James) pock- eted $5,840 for her owner, Bertha S. Irigoyen. Adrian Ramos rode the mare for trainer Rene Saucedo.
Pedro Zubiate’s Girl With A Plan (Big Daddy Cartel-Thirty Fourth Street) ran third under Sergio Dominguez for trainer Jaime Aldavaz Sr.
Call Me Kash (Call Me Corona-Rewound TB), Close To Crazy (Jesse James Jr-Da Edge), Woodys Copy Cat (Woodbridge-Fast Copy Miss), Osbaldo Lady (Osbaldo-Lady Chimes), Reyna Azul (First Moonflash- Rodeo Moon), Jess Featured Girl (TF Featured Effort-Jess Adoration) and Runner Chick (Chicks Regard-Eyesa Runner) completed the order of finish.
