ROYAL CASH FLASH
by Tracy Gantz
Oklahoma and Minnesota have played major roles in Royal Cash Flash’s career and pedi- gree. Bred in Oklahoma, the 3-year-old filly and her
dam, Seis The Royal Cash, have both won stakes in Minnesota. Royal Cash Flash returned to her native state to capture the $19,500 Miss Ellen Stakes at Will Rogers Downs on Oct. 17.
With Jorge Torres in the irons for trainer Clinton Crawford in the 350-yard Miss Ellen Stakes, Royal Cash Flash jumped out to the lead right from the gate and never gave it up. She scored by a 1/2-length in :17.665, posting a 94 speed index.
The Miss Ellen Stakes was Royal Cash Flash’s second stakes victory, following the 2019 Gopher State Futurity at Canterbury Park in Minnesota.
Brenda Reiswig bred and owns Royal Cash
Flash and also raced Seis The Royal Cash, who
won the 2013 North Central QHRA Futurity at Canterbury Park. Seis The Royal Cash has produced four winners from six starters, including Shadi Lady, who finished third in this year’s Valley Junction Futurity-G3. Reiswig also bred and races Shadi Lady, and Crawford trains that 2-year-old filly.
Saratoga Return (High Rate Of Return-Johns Party Girl), owned by Marili Mendez and the odds- on favorite, finished second. Juan Pulido rode the 4-year-old filly for trainer Fidencio Jimenez. Saratoga Return won the 2018 FL Lady Bug Stakes-Div. 2.
Cody Wainscott piloted Olena Sangria (Dashair-Mt Rob This Corona) to third for owner Rafael Haros and trainer Juliana Mancillas. Olena Sangria also ran third in the 2017 Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge.
