ake it two starts and two wins for JS Night
Moves. Kathy Daniels’ two-year-old black gelding also added black type to his career resume with a 3/4-length victory in the $22,000 AQHA Energy Downs Bonus Challenge, held May 21 at the Wyoming track.
JS Night Moves is trained by Kylie Valenzuela and had Jesus Valenzuela aboard.
That combination of trainer and jockey also pooled their efforts to win the Wyoming Bred Classic, held as part of the same card.
Facing 4-1 odds at the betting window, JS Night Moves broke on top from the 3 gate and never looked back. There was a little bumping going on at the start, but JS Night Moves wasn’t bothered by it.
The young gelding led by 1/2 length going into the stretch, then he gained some additional breathing room during the final yards.
The 300-yard stakes-winning trip took :15.941.
The $10,340 winner’s share of the purse improved JS Night Moves’ total bankroll to $12,665 from just two starts.
The black geldings made his debut in a May
6 maiden race at Pocatello Downs. In that event, JS Night Moves also went wire-to-wire. He had 1/2-length in the stretch and then he hit the finish line 1-length to the good.
Jeffrey W. Steadman bred JS Night Moves in Idaho out of Judging Julie, a 2002 mare who won 10 of 42 outs during her own racing career. She was ranked a leader by wins in 2006
Making the first out of her career, Queenelizabethcartel (Onedashingdifference- Daddy Queen Cartel) closed well under Luis Peralta to finish second for owner Juanita Villegas and trainer Jesse Villegas.
JLM Embezzler Queen (Downside Embezzler- Queen Cayenne), the post-time favorite, finished third by a neck. Jess Matt trains the filly and co-owns her with Tyler Johnston. Jesus Virgen was in the irons.
Completing the order of finish were Lollygagger (Pappasito-Echo Creek Canyon) in fourth and followed by The Fiscal Seis (Tres Seis-The Fiscal Sign), Risin Cowboy (Flyin Cowboy 123-Slr Jessies Girl), Famous Loaded Dice (Famous Painted One-A Bit Dicey), Light of a Queen (CS Flashlight- Queen Fa Tima), and One Separate Eagle (One Fabulous Eagle-Separate Debt). DCR C Nor Doubtfire was scratched by the stewards.

inning stakes races on the Wyoming Quarter
Horse circuit is quickly becoming a habit for Classic Dynasty Dash. The 4-year-old gelding collected his fourth victory in stakes company, all inside the Cowboy State, with a wire-to-wire run in the $16,600 Wyoming Bred Classic on May 21 at Energy Downs. This race was open to Quarter Horses, Paints, and Appaloosas.
Owned by Jose Rico, Classic Dynasty Dash now has won four straight races, including back-to- back stakes. He closed his 2022 schedule winning the Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby. His other stakes victories include the 2021 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity and Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity.
Incredibly consistent, Classic Dynasty Dash registered his tenth career win and he has finished in the money in 12 of his 13 career outs.
His total bankroll swelled to $119,712 with the $8,798 payday from this event.
Breaking from the 4-gate under Jesus Valenzuela, Classic Dynasty Dash broke on top and never looked back. He had a head at the first call and a neck at the top of the stretch. He widened the gap to 1/2-length at the wire.
The favorite at 3-5 odds, Classic Dynasty Dash finished the trip in :20.220 for trainer Kylie Valenzuela. The Valenzuela-Valenzuela team of trainer and jockey won the other stakes on the May 21 card - the Energy Downs AQHA Bonus Challenge.
Classic Dynasty Dash was ranked as a leader by wins in 2021 and 2022.
Ron and Laurie Moosman bred Classic Dynasty Dash out of Steffiesclassic Dash, a 2011 mare whom the Moosmans also own. She won the Hawthorne Futurity at Sandy Downs and won six of 13 starts, amassing $32,490 in earnings.
Eyes Special Swirl (Eyesa Special Slim-Lil Charolette Swirl) was second under Luis Peralta for Broken Bones Cattle Co. and trainer Jesse Villegas.
SB Timetoshine (Turbulent Times-Southern Surfer Girl) was third under Uriel Dominguez for owner Steve Berry and trainer Jess Matt.
Completing the order of finish were Bigg Brown (Choctaw River-Purrfect Eve) in fourth, followed by Diamond Dusting (Dustin Pro-Pritzis Diamond), Kcross Cuatro (RGR Jungle Jack- Caseys Six Pick), Yo Brindis Delite (Brindis Por Cayenne-RS Afternoon Delite), and Docs Fast Kick (Docs Fast Prize-Kicks and Giggles TB).

ayenneoverthemoon scored her second stakes
win in the $16,200 Ron Moosman Memorial at Energy Downs 307 Horse Racing on May 20. Ridden by Edgar Ramirez, the filly broke in
third from the outside post. She steadily gained ground throughout the 400 yards to cross the wire a head in front. She stopped the timer in :20.529.
Cayenneoverthemoon brought home the $8,910 winner’s share of the purse home for owner Walter Larson and trainer Jess Matt, boosting her total lifetime earnings to $77,594.
Racing exclusively in Wyoming, Cayenneoverthemoon has now won or placed in 11 of 15 starts, including a victory in last year’s Mixed Wyoming Bred Derby at Energy Downs. She was also a runner-up in the Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity and third in the Wyoming Stallion Breeders Derby and Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby.
S Bar S bred Cayenneoverthemoon out of Dashmetothemoon, winner of the 2011 Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge. She has produced two winners from four starters, including Moon Dash Cartel, who finished third in the 2017 TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity-RG3. Cayenneoverthemoon is her first stakes winner.
Cowboyhatbygucci (Apollitical Blood-Ms Fast First Prize) got away the best, but was caught at the wire and had to settle for second under Uriel Dominguez. The gelding is owned by Lucero Uriel Dominguez and trained by Calli Dominguez.
Major Apollitical (Apollitical Jess-Dyna Mo Rime) and jockey Jesus Valenzuela were third for owner Buckway Ranch LLC and trainer Kylie Valenzuela.
Prit Pro (Dustin Pro-Pritzis Diamond Lil) was fourth under Jarred Journet for owner/trainer Rick Hillstead.
SB Hoonagain and Transpiring were scratched.
