Esplanade Stakes
JJ HEZA FAST DASH JR

When the dust settled, it was JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr with a win in the $30,000 Esplande Stakes at Delta Downs on Aug. 13.
Ridden by Ricardo Hernandez Jr., the gelding broke on top from the 3-post and was never headed. They finished their wire-to-wire victory with a 1/2-length winning margin.
Trained by Jose Carrizales, JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr completed the 350 yards in :17.605, while posting an 89 speed index. JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr brought home the $18,000 winner’s share of the purse home for owner/breeder J & J Stables LLC, which boosted his total lifetime earnings to $115,238.
JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr has made all of his stakes starts at Delta Downs, also winning the 2022 Open Me A Corona Stakes-RG2. He was also a runner-up in the Vals Fortune/Teddy Abrams Jr. Stakes-RG2 and Miss Polly Classic-G2.
J & J Stables LLC bred JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr out of unraced Forever Real. She has produced two winners from three starters. JJ Heza Fast Dash Jr is her first stakes winner.
Caliente Operator (Corona Caliente-A Dashing Operator) gave a big effort to bank second place money for owner Antonio Jose De La Rosa. The S Riojas Jr. trainee had J. Ramirez was aboard. The gelding has won three races from 11 starts.
One Fast Perry (Fast Prize Jordan-De Bell Perry) ran a steady and even race and placed third under Leonardo Rodriguez for owner Eddie Harrison and trainer Larry Keith. The gelding was coming off of a fifth place finish in the Develop A Plan Stakes-G3.
King Intriguing Blue (Jess Louisiana Blue-Call Me Intriguing), Lett It Happen (Jet Black Patriot-Dont Lett Her Down), Quorumm (Tres Seis-Apolitical Pac), Jessa Fantasy Perry (Mr Jess Perry-Fantsy Pants) and Cwfasttrack (Mr Ease Cartel-Bt Sheza Baby Spoon) completed the order of finish.

SUZES DYNASTY

Returning to the scene of her first-ever stakes victory, Suzes Dynasty got back into the winner’s circle in stakes company taking the $27,250 Wyoming
Downs Derby at Wyoming Downs on Aug. 6. Josh Taylor trains the three-year-old filly who
has now won half of her 14 career outs for owner Bill Doenz. Winning the 400-yard race by a 3/4-length, she stopped the timer in 19.968, earning a 94 speed index. The $12,535 payday increased the filly’s total earnings to six figures, now totaling $103,327.
During her trial, Suzes Dynasty covered the 350 yards in :19.805 to post the third-fastest qualifying time, but wasn’t quite so quick in the stakes final. She finished in :19.968 and posted a 94 speed index while aided by a 25 mph tailwind. The filly broke from
the outside gate under jockey Joe Dominguez in the 10-horse field and trailed early but then came flying, grabbing a 1/2-length lead by the time she entered the stretch and continuing to pull away in her final strides.
Flag Ranch LLC bred Suzes Dynasty out of Brown Eye Suze, a 2005 mare who placed in a graded stakes event and had seven wins as part of a 28-race career that produced nearly $110,000 in prize money.
Cowboyhatbygucci (Apollitical Blood-Ms Fast First Prize) finished second under jockey Uriel Dominguez for owner Lucero Uriel Dominguez and trainer Uriel Dominguez, Sr. B The One (Five Bar Cartel-KT Perry), the post-time favorite, finished third under jockey Cesar Moreno for owner Onofre Hernandez and trainer Abelardo Gonzalez.

VF GIVE ME A PRIZE

VF Give Me A Prize secured his first stakes win in the $15,350 Don Pedro Dash on July 31 at Wyoming Downs.
Ridden by Nakia Teeter, the colt broke on top from the 4-post and held the lead throughout the sprint. They crossed the wire a neck in front, completing the 100 yards in :6.405 and posting a 103 speed index.
VF Give Me A Prize brought home the $9,210 winner’s share of the purse for owner Lynn McNeely, boosting his total lifetime earnings to $20,887.
Raced in three states - Wyoming, Idaho and Utah, VF Give Me A Prize has won three races from 14 starts. He was a finalist in the Gary & Sharilyn Blattner Memorial Derby earlier this year as well as last year’s Crush the Curve Futurity Consolation.
Victory Farms bred VF Give Me A Prize out of multiple winner Red Temptress, who finished third in the 2001 Retama Park Futurity-G1. She has produced six winners from 10 starters, including top earner VF Red Surprise, who won the 2017 Sooner State Stakes-RG1. VF Give Me A Prize is her second stakes winner.
There is no room for error in a hundred
yard race and UD Goldenboy (Jr Dynasty Mountain-Bvlgari B) just barely missed under Uriel Dominguez. He banked second place money for owner/trainer Uriel Lucero Dominguez. The gelding has won five stakes races, including the Laurel Brown Derby and Horse Palace Futurity.
Eight-time winner Pappajeto (Pappasito-Streaking Secrets) and rider Julian Zavala were 2nd for owners Linda & David Burt, who is also the trainer.
TDM Big Shooter (Coronas Velvet-Tru Socialite), No One Fights Alone (Jesse James Jr-Bac N The Saddle), Dash N The Wind (Furyofthewind-Eyes Flashy), Hes R Dynasty (Jr Dynasty Mountain-Separate Encounter), Fishin Off The Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Jess A Lil Fishy) and Apolitical Pro (Dustin Pro- Apolitical Dream) completed the order of finish.
