Suzes Dynasty ran third in her July 24 trial heat to the Wyoming Downs Futurity.
She had only won one out of five prior to the trials and she came into the finals with the 8th fastest time. Then she found her groove in the finals at Wyoming Downs. The 350-yard stakes carried a total purse of $77,650. The longest shot on the morning line at 18 to one, Suzes Dynasty broke from the 1-post. She got the first call, and in a few
strides was a neck in front. Jockey Cristian Aguirre- Erives knew they were the underdogs and he hustled and encouraged. They went wire-to-wire and crossed
the line a length in front in :17.280 to earn a 105 speed index. The daughter of FDD Dynasty also earned the first place check worth $35,719, taking bankroll to $44,945. Her race record stands at 2

NIGHT LEADER
by John Moorehouse
In Scott Reid’s opinion, Night Leader improves every time he steps out onto a racetrack. If that trend continues, the two-year-old gelding’s win
by daylight in the $48,683 Ontario Bred Futurity won’t be the only stakes victory on his record.
Simultaneously breaking his maiden, Night Leader won decisively in the Aug. 4 event at Ajax Downs, opening a 1 1/2-length lead as he entered the stretch and hitting the wire with that same margin. Reid trains the gelding and co-owns him with John S.
Wilson. Reid and Wilson went in as partners to buy both Night Leader and Shifting Tides from their breeder, Edith Slater.
“We figured we kind of have twice the chance if one of them performed well,” Reid explained.
Night Leader certainly performed well here. He fin- ished this 300-yard event in :15.739, posting an 83 speed
wins out of 6 races. Her team includes owner Bill Doenz and trainer Josh Taylor. She was bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC out
of the mare Brown Eye Suze, an ROM earner with over $109,000. She has produced 18 foals and Suze Returns is her best product.
“We are mostly a family run operation,” said trainer Josh Taylor “My wife and kids all play a part. Our owners bought Suzes Dynasty

Rayshas Kidd Trax (Kiddy Up-Rayshas Pink Sky) won his trial heat for the 3rd fastest time, and ran the same race back in the finals under Jacquelyn Bobroff. He is owned by Renegade Racing and Spackman Racing, and Brent Bowman was
in charge of conditioning. in the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity trials, tak- ing place at Ajax near the end of August.
Trainer Jason Pascoe prepped the other
2 horses who hit the board. First Cold Wave (Cold Hard Dash-Cassies Carver), the post- time favorite at almost even-money odds, finished 2nd for owner Robert Bailey with Brian Bell aboard. Kold Kinda Star (Cold Hard Dash-Kool Kinda Star), who bested Night Leader in a maiden on July 14, placed 3rd for Belinda Taggart under Ismael Mosqueira.
Followed by Keepr Of The Stars (Star
Fire Dash-Dazzlin Lady), Magic Diamond (Maryland Magic-Diamonds Galore TB), Rapter (Bodacious Jess-Make Us A Miracle), Shifting Tides (El Night Shift-Across The Ocean), and Back Home Fishin (Down Home Dash-Electrolyte Kiss). Blazin Magician and Oh My Gawd scratched.

“She is a beast to gallop so we send her with a pony every time,” the trainer continued. “Race day, she is all business, she sometimes hops out of the gate. She gives her best effort down the track. We are look- ing forward to the futurity at Sweetwater Downs.”

“Honestly I had high expectations of him,” Reid said of the young gelding. “He seems like the kind of horse that learns some- thing every time he runs and he gets better. “
This marked the third start of his career and rider Joel Scott has been in the irons for every one of them.
“He’s riding as my first call rider right now,” Reid said of Scott. “He’s been riding the vast majority of my horses, so he’s been on [Night Leader] since his first workout at Ajax, even the first time he went to Ajax to gallop.”
Sean Slater owns Bajillion, the dam of Night Leader. The 2008 mare logged three wins in her 16-race career.
