NO MIRES A LA LUNA

Making his first start in New Mexico this season, Byron Woodard’s No Mires A La Luna outran his 11-1 odds to win the $40,000 Zia
Stakes-RG2 for New Mexico-breds at Ruidoso Downs on July 31.
No Mires A La Luna covered 400 yards in :19.563, and his margin of victory was a half of a length over Marcus Medallion. Lucas Constantin rode the homebred 5-year-old son of Champion First Moonflash for trainer Marc Jungers.
No Mires A La Luna was coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign during which he earned $12,034 from three starts and won a 350-yard allowance-optional claiming ($50,000) dash on April 10. Raced in New Mexico and Oklahoma, No Mires A La Luna has won five of 24 outs, and the $24,000 winner’s share of the purse from his third career stakes score pushed his bankroll to $484,065. The gelding’s resume also includes a neck victory in the 2019 Zia Derby-RG2 at Ruidoso Downs.
He is out of Dont Looke Ethel, a winning daugh- ter of the Strawfly Special stallion Genuine Strawfly.
Marcus Medallion (Jesse James Jr-Houstons Medallion) finished second for owner and trainer Jaime Aldavaz Sr. Adrian Ramos rode the 8-year-old gelding.
A 29-1 longshot, Effortless Candy Cat (TF Featured Effort-Rime Has A Chick) finished third, a head behind Marcus Medallion. Benito Baca rode the 4-year-old gray gelding for owner Sebastian Gonzales and trainer James Gonzales II.
Flashing Moolah (First Moonflash-Chicks Chamisa), Colby James (Jesse James Jr-Sandy June Bug), Amandas Flashy (First Moonflash-Holland Fire), Perrys Regard (Chicks Regard-Ms Perry Mason), Flash The Corona (First Moonflash- Corona Kelly), Jess A Satin Flash (First Moonflash- Jess Satin) and Freedom Flash (First Moonflash-Mi Camila) completed the order of finish.

LMG FIRST CALL

LMG First Call, a homebred son of First Moonflash campaigned by LMG Racing Inc., broke his maiden in the $50,000 Zia Juvenile Stakes
for New Mexico-bred 2 year olds on Aug. 1.
Ridden by Raul Valenzuela, LMG First Call went
400 yards in :19.866, and his winning margin was a neck from Jaunt. Michael Joiner prepped the gelding, who earned $21,000 from his first win in four starts.
LMG First Call was coming off of a second-place finish in the fourth of ten Zia Futurity-RG1 trials on July 16. The gelding is out of Call Me 333, a winning 8-year-old daughter of the Mr Jess Perry stallion One Sweet Jess. He traces back to his third dam, Beat Your Pants Off, a daughter of the Easy Six stallion Six Fols who won the 1988 Utah QHA Fall Futurity at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City.
Campaigned exclusively at Ruidoso Downs, LMG First Call has banked $23,228.
Jaunt (Big Daddy Cartel-Sandys Fame) was second for owners Haskell E. Rich and Jacque M. Rich. A $30,000 yearling purchase at last year’s New Mexico-Bred Sale, the bay gelding was ridden by Mario Delgado for trainer Casey Lambert.
Daddies Wish (Big Daddy Cartel-Wish You
Had One To) finished third, a half of a length from LMG First Call. A gray filly and $32,000 buy at last year’s Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, Daddies Wish was ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. for owners Julie A. Schoenhofer, Maricela Vasquez, and Julieta N. Torres, and trainer Albert Valles.
Ms Flashin Ivory (First Moonflash-Special Dark Ivory), Liarliarlegsonfire (Ice On Fire V-Fishers Fib), Dennarro (Big Daddy Cartel-Leading Diva), Pennie Wize (Big Daddy Cartel-Thirty Fourth Street), Bad Kompany (Jesse James Jr-Ofashionsoutherngirl), DQ’d from 4th to 9th Just De Vine (Big Daddy Cartel-Tangled Vines) & Touraine (Big Daddy Cartel-Tres Of Alice) followed.

APOLLITICAL B SNOW

Christopher Villatoro’s Apollitical B Snow ran his streak of stakes wins to three with an impressive victory in the $75,000 Louisiana
Classic-RG2 at Delta Downs on July 31.
With Delta’s leading rider Everardo Rodriguez
aboard, Apollitical B Snow assumed command shortly after the start of the 440-yard test and quickly powered clear of his eight rivals. He maintained a clear advan- tage through the lane and won as he pleased, defeating Lifeinthefastlanes by 1-length at the wire. Apollitical
B Snow covered the distance in a lively :21.369, which encroached on the :21.264 track record set by Zupers Quick Dash in 2013. The winner’s final time earned a speed index of 104 for trainer Rosendo Valdez Jr.
The $45,000 winner’s share of the purse increased the brown gelding’s earnings to $159,658, and the win improved his record to 17-6-2-

Runner-up Lifeinthefastlanes (Jess Louisiana Blue-Pantherinthefastlane) closed gamely in the
lane but could not match strides with the winner late. David Alvarez piloted the filly for owners Jason Richards and Michael Leblanc and trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr. El Predator(Freighttrain B-Told Ya) and jockey Leonardo Rodriguez held third for owner Jose Barron and trainer Manuel Macias.
Mpshinning (Mr Piloto-Shinningperrydash), Lightemupwithcharm (Sizzlin Cartel-Grace Filled Charm), Ought To Go Tee (Tee Cos-VF Ought Tto Go Max), Tuckers Prize (Fast Prize Dash-BB Secrets Game), Maggies Runaway (Sir Runaway Dash-Ms Maggies First) and Achievopiloto (Mr Piloto-Achieve The Splash) completed the order of finish.
