esa Party Wagon scored the first graded stakes
win of his career, capturing the $75,000 James Isaac Hobbs Stakes-G2 at Zia Park on Oct. 9.
The post-time favorite at less than 2-1 odds, Hesa Party Wagon left little doubt in this one. The gelding broke second from the 5-post, seizing the lead by a head at the first call and maintained that narrow advantage at every call, finishing at the front of a five-horse blanket finish. Christian Ramos was in the irons as the gelding completed his 350-yard trip in :17.330 for a 105 speed index. Juan Manuel Baeza owns and trains the four-year-old bay gelding, who improved his overall record to 7-1-0 in 11 starts. The $45,000 winner’s share of the purse improved his total earnings to $171,664. Hesa Party Wagon has rounded into form this year; he holds four wins in
six starts, three of which are stakes victories, and has accumulated $125,614 in prize money.
Buddy Albin bred Hesa Party Wagon and owns his dam, Lil Miss Party Doll, a 2011 winning mare. She has produced 100% winners out of her six starters with earnings of $442,075.
High Flying Hero (Valiant Hero-Jess A Classy Lassy), the biggest longshot in the field at nearly 27-1 odds, surprised in second for owner Arturo Cervantes. The Jesus Carrete trainee had Agustin Silva in the irons. Jessapoliticalgirl (Apollitical Jess- Kirklyns Dynasty) hit the board in third place for Sergio Castillo. Jose DeHerrera is the trainer and Hector Aldrete did the riding.

erry Stojan’s Noble Rearing earned his first
career stakes win in the $59,607 Canada Cup Futurity-RG3 at Century Mile on Oct. 8.
Ridden by Ricardo Moreno for trainer William Leech, Noble Rearing defeated Professor Gee by 1-length in :19.782 while posting a lifetime-best 109 speed index. He also earned the $27,093 winner’s share of the purse, which raised his earnings to $41,674.
The fastest qualifier from two Canada Cup Futurity trials contested on Sept. 24, Noble Rearing broke his maiden with a 3 1/2-length win in the second heat. The gelding has won two of six races and his resume includes a second-place run in the John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge at Grande Prairie on July 31.
Noble Rearing was bred by Edward C. Allred, and he was purchased by Stojan for $36,000 at last year’s Los Alamitos Equine Sale. The colt is out
of Sweet TR, a stakes-winning mare who won the 2014 Paul B. Ford Memorial Handicap and earned $43,470 in her career. She has produced four winners from five starters.
Professor Gee (Fly Thru The Fire-Bemused) placed second under jockey J.B. Botello and banked $10,235 for his owner Jerry Stojan and trainer William Leech. Professor Gee was purchased for $11,000 at last year’s Los Alamitos Equine Sale.
Northfork Boss (JD Wagon Boss-Northfork Babe) ran third under jockey O. Amador Hernandez. The bay gelding is owned by Glenn Wills, Delton D. Gehring, and Buckey Stockwell, who also trains Northfork Boss.
Eyemadashin (Dashin By All-Red Eye Jess) finished fourth and was followed by Jetsup (Kiddy Up-Jetsetter), Tulsa Timber (First Timber-Mars Move), Springeleer (Duponte-First Sassy Timber), and First Olaf (First Timber-Snowbound Star Lady). Eighth-fastest qualifier Appreciate was scratched.

Invitational Stakes held at Century Mile on Oct. 22. Flight Club broke from the 3- post in third
with Ricardo Moreno in the irons and took a hard bump at the break from the inside horse. They never weakened and were soon a 1/2-length in front. They crossed the line a neck in front, stopping the timer at 19.699 to earn a 111 speed index. The gelding also earned the first place check worth $8,313, which ups his lifetime earnings to $92,412.
His race record stands at eight wins out of
13 career starts. He has won his last five out of seven races, each victory being in stakes company, including the Canada Cup Derby, Old Timers Classic Stakes, Century Mile Bonus Challenge Stakes and the Bank of America Evergreen Park Championship Challenge.
His team includes owner Charles G. Stojan and trainer William H. Leech. He was bred in California by Steve D. Burns DVM out of the winning mare Seperate Flight. The mare earned $30,294 during her racing career and has produced four winners from six starters with earnings of $134,071.
Rowdysvision (Tf Rowdy Lil Perry-Vision My Corona) was gaining on the leader every jump but the wire got there a stride too soon. He banked second place money for owner Isaak Fehr and trainer Misael Moreno. Daniel Garcia was in the irons. He had won the Cup Classic Stakes at Century Mile on Oct. 1.
Honor The Fast Man (Honor The Perry-Buckle High) overcame a poor start and was able to place third under jockey Martin Ortiz. He is owned and trained by Tom Kenway.
The remaining order of finish was Timbers Express (First Timber-Daddys Express Girl), Hortons Real Deal (Hortons Specialissue-Winkin Dynasty), Obsessed Way (Obsessed With Corona- Dash N Way), I Getit (Foose-Getit Together).
