Since Jason Olmstead has taken over the conditioning, My Midnight Candy has won four in a row. His latest was in the $85,016 Oklahoma Horseman’s Association Mystery Derby, a 350-yard event hosted by Will Rogers Downs on Nov. 13.
The gelding won his trial heat and came into the finals with the second fastest qualifying time. to $76,833, and his race record stands at six wins

Classy Sheik Mixed Stakes
CLASSY CLASS TB
by Michael Compton
Classy Class, a battle-tested 9-year-old Thoroughbred gelding, still has plenty of life in him, as the veteran campaigner justified even-money
odds in defeating Quarter Horses in the $30,000 Classy Sheikh Stakes at Turf Paradise on Nov. 16. With Isaias Enriquez in the irons, Classy Class
raced in third during the early stages of the 870-yard marathon. He rallied along the inside to vie for the lead into the stretch and kicked clear late to score
by 1 1/2-lengths over 23-1 longshot J Boy A. Classy Class covered the distance in :45.416, earning a speed index of 92 for trainer and co-owner Justin Evans.
The victory marked the third win in four
starts against Quarter Horses for Classy Class.
The win improved his overall record to 50-15-4-
12, and the $18,042 winner’s share of this purse increased his lifetime bankroll to $658,189 for owners Justin Evans and Paul Miller. Classy Class captured the 2017 Salvator Mile Stakes-G3 against Thoroughbreds by 2 3/4-lengths at Monmouth Park.
The Kentucky-bred gelding is by Discreetly Mine and was bred by E. Paul Robsham LLC. Classy Class is produced from the Saarland mare Collegiate, and the bay gelding was a $250,000 purchase in 2014 from the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s March Sale.
Runner-up J Boy A (Jess Zoomin-Mighty Classy Lassy) and jockey Cerapio Figueroa finished gamely but could not match strides with the winner late. The gelding is a 7-time winner and is owned & trained by Thomas Gonzalez.
