ultiple stakes winner RTM Good Enough is
more than her name suggests, and the 5-year- old gray mare has a definite affinity for the racing strip at Pocatello Downs. Two years after winning the Idaho Cup Derby at Pocatello Downs in 2020, RTM Good Enough returned to Pocatello Downs and was clearly more than enough to emerge victori- ous in the 400-yard $18,000 Idaho Cup Maturity on Sept. 11.
Ridden by Jesus Canales, RTM Good Enough broke alertly and took command at once in the test. She maintained a clear advantage through the lane and defeated No One Fights Alone by 1 1/2-lengths as the race favorite. In scoring the second stakes win of her career, RTM Good Enough stopped the timer in :19.992, good for a speed index of 94.
Owned by RTM Stables LLC and trained by Mark Hanson, RTM Good Enough improved her overall record to 21-5-7-2 and the $10,800 winner’s share of the purse increased her bankroll to $35,189. Bred in Idaho by Susan Hanson, RTM Good Enough is out of 8-time winner RTM Say Your Prayers, winner of the AQHA Sandy Downs Distaff Challenge.
Runner-up No One Fights Alone (Jesse James Jr-Bac N The Saddle), with jockey Jose Borbonio in the saddle, secured the place spot for owner Whitaker Farms and trainer Scott Warr. The 5-year-old mare was bred in Idaho by Denny Whitaker.
Multiple stakes-placed Teller Its Lightning (Teller Cartel-Smokn Mirrors) and jockey Jesus Flores finished third, just a head behind No One Fights Alone. The 4-year-old gelding, bred in Idaho by
John McBride, is owned by Edward Jamison, and is conditioned by Glen Jamison.
RTM Glory Days (Coronas Fast Dash-RTM Say Your Prayers), a half-sister to the winner RTM Good Enough, completed the order of finish. A Lil Bit Famous and Mz Corona were scratched.

ive Bar Rockstar hinted at his talent when he
finished third in last year’s Idaho Cup Futurity in just his fourth start as a juvenile. The sorrel gelding returned to Pocatello Downs on Sept. 11 a more seasoned individual and delivered on the promise
he flashed a year ago by winning the $21,870 Idaho Cup Derby.
Ridden by Jesus Canales, Five Bar Rockstar raced in second position in the early stages of the 400-yard event. He poked his head in front of odds-on favorite Chicks Dashin Bandit in the lane and outdueled
that rival to the wire, scoring by a neck at the
finish at odds of 7-1. Five Bar Rockstar stopped the clock in :19.908, earning a speed index of 96 in the determined effort.
Owned and trained by Lynn McNeely, Five Bar Rockster improved his record to 14-5-2-2 and the $8,858 winner’s share of the purse increased his career earnings to $47,827. In his previous outing, Five
Bar Rockster won the Gary Waite Maiden Stakes at Wyoming Downs and was third in an 89 and Under final earlier this season. Bred in Idaho by Bryon Goody, Five Bar Rockstar is out of 3-time winner Genre, a 2-time stakes finalist.
Chicks Dashin Bandit (Coronas Fast Dash-First Prize Chicks) saw his four-race winning streak halted with his second-place finish. Ridden by Oscar Villa, Chicks Dashin Bandit is owned by Five Livestock Company LLC and is trained by Ramiro Fregoso.
RTM Belle (Ivory James-RTM Say Your Prayers) and jockey Julian Zavala reported home in third place for owner RTM Stables and trainer Mark Hanson.
RTM Finn (One Sweet Jess-RTM Good Vibrations), Katie Perry (Five Bar Cartel-Sexy Perry), Best Not To Judge (Best Advice-Judge Charlotte), and Momys Little Corona (Slew’s Prince TB-DDS Corona Prospect) completed the order of finish. Leave It To Corona was scratched.

torm Cat, one of Thoroughbred racing’s most
outstanding sires, experienced fertility prob- lems toward the end of his career. Since artificial insemination isn’t allowed in Thoroughbreds, it
was announced that Storm Cat might be bred to Quarter Horse mares via AI. The Quarter Horse graded stakes-winning stallion Stray Cat was one of the results, and Stray Cat’s daughter First Moon Cat captured the Sept. 24 Q-Racing Video Idaho Distaff Challenge at Pocatello Downs.
When the gate opened in the 400-yard Distaff Challenge, First Moon Cat got away in third. She quickly sped to the front to win by three-quarters of a length in :19.926.
Hector Magallanes trains First Moon Cat for owner/breeder Jeff Ray. First Moon Cat broke her maiden at Los Alamitos, and she finished second in the 2021 Grants Pass Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Stakes.
Ray bred First Moon Cat in Washington from multiple stakes-placed Yak Ity Yak Go, who has produced seven winners from eight starters. The mare’s runners include stakes-placed Stella Corona.
RTM Stables owns and Mark Hanson trains second-placed RTM Good Enough (Ivory James- RTM Say Your Prayers) and third-placed RTM Belle (Ivory James-RTM Say Your Prayers). Dakota Wood rode RTM Good Enough, who was coming off a win in the Idaho Cup Maturity Stakes. Julian Zavala piloted RTM Belle, who ran second in the 2021 Idaho Cup Futurity and third in the 2022 Idaho Cup Derby.
Completing the field were Papas Eyes (Pappasito- Hawkinson Eyes), No One Fights Alone (Jesse James Jr-Bac N The Saddle), Im Perky (Seperate Interest- Perky), RTM Glory Days (Coronas Fast Dash-RTM Say Your Prayers), and Eyez Of Cartel (Five Bar Cartel-Angel Eyez). Katie Perry was scratched.
