Sweetwater Downs Derby

ayshas Kidd Trax, a bay gelding owned by
Shannon R. Demler and Renegade Racing, won the $16,400 Sweetwater Downs Derby on Sept. 11. Trained by Dru Hall and sent to post as the 6-5
favorite in a field of seven 3-year-olds, Rayshas Kidd Trax defeated 5-2 second choice Cowboyhatbygucci by 1 1/4-lengths while covering 400 yards in :19.777 and recording a 102 speed index. Edgar Ramirez rode the bay gelding.
Campaigned in three states, including California and Utah, Rayshas Kidd Trax has won five of 13 races, and the $8,200 winner’s share of this purse from his first career stakes score increased his earnings to $48,993. His juvenile resume included
a second-place finish in the $101,950 Wild West Futurity-RG3 at Los Alamitos.
Rayshas Kidd Trax was bred in Utah by Renegade Racing and Spackman Racing, and he made his local debut with a nose victory in an allowance dash on Aug. 28. The gelding is out of Rayshas Pink Sky, a winner who ran third in the 2017 Blue Grass Bounce Handicap at Los Alamitos. Rayshas Kidd Trax traces back to his third dam, Arbor Mist, who won the 2004 New Mexico State Fair Derby-RG3.
Second-placed Cowboyhatbygucci (Apollitical Blood-Ms Fast First Prize) banked $4,100 for his owner, Lucero Uriel Dominguez. Trainer Uriel Dominguez Sr. had Uriel Dominguez in the irons.
Diamond Dusting (Dustin Pro-Pritzis Diamond Lil) finished third, 1 3/4 lengths behind the winner. Oscar Cervantes rode the homebred gelding for owner and trainer Rick Hillstead.
Dangerous Dude (Kiddy Up-Dangerous Woman) ran fourth and was followed by Suzes Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Brown Eye Suze), Portofino Cartel Mrl (Carters Cartel-In The Open), and JV Zoom Flying Girl (Glock-Jes Zoomin Girl).

erald F. Kaul’s Yo Brindis Delite outran his 22-1
odds to win the $34,575 Wyoming Stallion Breeders’ Derby at Sweetwater Downs on Sept. 3.
Trained by Jesse Villegas, Yo Brindis Delite covered 350 yards in :17.567, and his margin of victory was
a clear 1 1/2 lengths in his wire-to-wire run. Edgar Ramirez rode the homebred bay gelding.
Yo Brindis Delite has won 3 of 15 outs, and the $13,830 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $23,913, of which $16,100 has been pocketed from six starts this season. The gelding was a finalist in three futurities last season, including the $77,120 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity.
Yo Brindis Delite was bred in Wyoming, and
he posted the 4th-fastest qualifying time from two trials contested on Aug. 21. The gelding is out of
RS Afternoon Delite, an unplaced 10-year-old New Mexico-bred daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Southern Cartel. Yo Brindis Delite traces back to his third dam, A Classic Song, a winning daughter of A Classic Dash who ran second in the 1997 AQHA Texas Juvenile Challenge Stakes-G3 at Manor Downs.
Runner-up Eyesa Special Swirl (Eyesa Special Slim- Lil Charolette Swirl) finished second under jockey Luis Peralta for owner Broken Bones Cattle Co. Jesse Villegas trains the homebred filly.
Diamond Dusting (Dustin Pro-Pritzis Diamond
Lil) and Cayenneoverthemoon (Brindis Por Cayenne- Dashmetothemoon) finished in a deadheat for third. Jesus Virgen rode Diamond Dusting for owner/trainer Rick Hillstead. Shaunda Larsen rode Cayenneoverthemoon for owner Walter I. Larson and trainer Jess Matt.

he fastest qualifier from the Aug. 26 trials, Okey
Prissy Mountain scored in the $44,000 Elko Intermountain Futurity on Sept. 5 at Elko County Fair in Elko, Nevada.
In the finals, the brown filly broke from the 10-gate on the lead and made a wire-to-wire run, scoring by a neck in :17.710 for a career-high 102 speed index.
Okey Prissy Mountain was ridden by Jesus Valenzuela for breeder/owner Von Vicchrilli and trainer Farrell Christoffersen.
Okey Prissy Mountain qualified to the Elko Intermountain Futurity with a 3/4-length victory in her trial. Previously, the filly finished second in the Thomas Market Futurity at Oneida County Fair on Aug. 14.
The $17,600 winner’s share of the Elko Intermountain Futurity purse pushed her bankroll to $20,165. Okey Prissy Mountain now has a record of two wins and one second from three starts.
Okey Prissy Mountain was bred by Vicchrilli out of the mare Miss Okey Fame, a winner at Wyoming Downs.
Fouth-fastest qualfier JG Corona Virus (Glock- Tat Team USA) was second with a strong finish
for owners Sixto Garcia and owner/trainer Israel Juarez. The filly was ridden by Oscar Cervantes.
