Rock Springs WYO Bred Maturity

otta Lotta Papa has won her last two outs in
wire-to-wire fashion. Her first in the Sept. 12 trials to the $23,145 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Maturity and then in the finals at Sweetwater Downs on Sept. 25.
The filly broke from the 7-post and got the first call. Within a few jumps, she was a head in front. Under jockey Joe Dominguez, they were still a head in front at mid stretch. Encouragement from Joe helped them cross the line a neck to the good. Trained by Riley Moosman, the filly stopped the timer in :19.999 to earn a 94 speed index. Gotta Lotta Papa also earned the $9,258 winner’s share for owners Kathy & Ron Moosman, boosting her total lifetime earnings to $63,840.
Gotta Lotta Papa is now a 2-time stakes winner, having also won the 2019 Wyoming All Breeds Racing Association Futurity. She also has 2nd place finishes
in the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity and Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby.
Bryce Moosman bred Gotta Lotta Papa out of
Lotta Kat Moves, who won the Beehive & Utah Classic Futurities. She has produced 4 winners from 5 starters, including Utah Bred Futurity winner BK Katniss. Gotta Lotta Papa is her 2nd stakes winner and top earner.
Multiple stakes winner TDM Big Shooter (Coronas Velvet-Tru Socialite) was 2nd under Uriel Dominguez for owner Tyson Morgan & trainer Steve Morgan. Stakes winner CD Proud Flyin D Kas (View Me Flying-JPS Super De Lizzie) got knocked around at the start but showed grit and finished 3rd for owners Carol & Daniel Lee. The Diana Garfias trainee had Shaunda Larsen up. Followed by Eyesa Special Snoopi (Eyesa Special Slim-Llil Charolette Swirl), Tanquery Dash (Prindis Por Cayenne-Dashin Dashetta), CD Makin Us Proud (Maknmoves-Double Otta), Rays Lane (Conn Creek-A Dash Of Steffi) and Regal Eagle Revenge (Regal Eagle-A Secret Life). Brindis Secretweapon & Smoke N Cashanova were scratched.

a dead-heat victory in the $27,300 Wyoming Stallion Breeders’ Derby at Sweetwater Downs on Aug. 28.
Bigg Brown broke from the 1-post under Tyson Lusk with Eyesa Special Hatchet and jockey Luis Peralta out in second and a head behind at the
first call.
The two raced in that position until the finish line approached. Then, Eyesa Special Hatchet made a late surge and thetwo geldings crossed
the wire 1/2-length in front to stop the timer in :17.649 for a 97 speed index.
Trained by Jordan Hadley, Bigg Brown col- lected his $8,190 winner’s share of the purse for owner/breeders Kim and Dan Lapierre, boosting his bankroll to $43,685. Bigg Brown was second in the Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity, third in the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity and in the Wyoming Bred Derby, and fourth in the KC Carden Wyoming Bred Derby.
Trained by Jessie Villegas, Eyesa Special Hachet (Eyesa Special Slim-Streaking Ruby Red) also col- lected $8,190 for owner/breeder Broken Bones Cattle Company, pushing his earnings to $28,598. Eyesa Special Hachet previously finished second in the Wyoming Bred Derby and in the Dan Lockie Derby.
Broken Bones Cattel Company also owns third place finisher Eyesa Special Beddy (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Beddy Bye), who was ridden by Shaunda Larsen and trained by Jessie Villegas.
Eyesa Special Digger (Eyesa Special Slim-Lil Shameless Angel), Eyesa Special Rebel (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Camilla), Dicey Seduction (Our Dicey Ffm-Seduce), VVR Here Comes Bendy (Whata Corona Runner-Fleetwood Mick), and Eyesa Special Mongo (Eyesa Special Slim- Sweet Betty Lou) completed the order of finish. Grannys Stashin Cash and Tha Boss were both scratched.

The first was in the Aug. 14 Wyoming Stallion Breeders’ Futurity trials where she won her heat by a length and posted the third fastest qualifying time. Then it was a win in the $58,850 finals held on Aug. 28 at Sweetwater Downs.
VVR Sugar Sugar broke from the number six post on the lead and jockey Jesus Valenzuela hustled and encouraged her.
They received every call in their wire-to-wire performance and completed the 300 yards in :15.526 to earn a 99 speed index.
The daughter of Whata Corona Runner also earned the first place check worth $23,540 for owner Carter Garfilas. The sorrel filly has now earned a total of $25,860, her race record stands at two wins out of five races.
VVR Sugar Sugar made her first start at Energy Downs on May 22. She tried there again before moving to Wyoming Downs for the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity trials. Then, it was to Sweetwater Downs where she is now undefeated at that track.
VVR Sugar Sugar was bred in Wyoming by Mike Lipp out of the mare Highheeled La Jolla. She is a two-time winner at Canterbury Park.
Eyesa Special Swirl (Eyesa Special Slim-Lil Charolette Swirl) won her trial heat and posted the second fastest time. She ran that same race back
to earn second place money under Luis Peralta for owner Broken Bones Cattle Company and trainer Jessie Villegas. She is a four-time winner.
VVR Workin Man (Whata Corona Runner- Proud Caption) put up the fastest qualifying time in the trials. In the finals, the colt ran a gritty third for owner Biby Garfias. Diana Garfias is his trainer and David Jimenez handled the reins. The colt is a three-time winner and was second in the Wyoming Bred Futurity.
