Ten Idaho bred three year olds went to the post
for the Idaho Cup Derby on Sept. 12 at Pocatello Downs. Winner RTM Details’ has now won two in a row since Nakia Ramirez has taken over the riding assignment, with his latest win in the $28,000 Idaho Cup Derby.
The filly stepped away from the 1-post last and in last. Enter Nakia Ramirez. Riding with grit and determination, she seemed to bring out the best in RTM Details. At the midway point, they were a head in front and the pair crossed the wire a nose to the good. They completed the 400 yards in :20.175, which was good for a 90 speed index.
The daughter of Carters Cartel earned a 90 speed index and a first place check worth $11,200. That boosted her total earnings to $16,265. Her race record stands at two wins from seven starts. Her team includes owner RTM Stables LLC and trainer Mark Hanson.
She was bred in Idaho by Susan T. Hanson out of RTM Good Vibrations, who has produced three foals. RTM Details is her fastest offspring.
Stablemate RTM Glory Days (Coronas Fast Dash-RTM Say Your Prayers) broke the best and had the lead for a bit. She held on for second place money for owner RTM Stables LLC and trainer Mark Hanson. Jesus Canales was in the saddle.
Ocean Voyage (Ocean Runaway-Cassies Jet Voyage) finished in third under Gerardo Vera for owners Kent and Linda Jones and trainer Daren Jones.
Heza Gator (Apollitical Blood-Sheza Gator) was fourth and Threefamousdiamonds (Tres Seis Nueve- Fames Version), GW Stylish Diamond (Second Painted Sign-GW Running Diamond,) Azoom
In Ta Fame (Azoom-Runway Ta Fame), Imported Corona (Class Jump-Suzi Ran), One Corona Special (Coronas Fast Dash-Jesse Jayne) and Play Ur Cards (Docs Best Card-Feature Miss Fame) completed the order of finish.
Arizona Downs Derby
TRES A JESS

Tres A Jess made an impressive run when he won the $19,950 Arizona Downs Quarter Horse Derby on Aug. 24.
The chestnut colt stepped away from the three- post in second and quickly grabbed a head lead by the first call.
With the help of jockey Elias Gutierrez, they maintained that head lead down the lane.
Tres A Jess held on against the quick moving Shez Our Jess. Tres A Jess crossed under the wire a neck in front, completing the 400 yards in :19.635 to earn a 98 speed index.
Trained by Heraclio Botello Jr., Tres A Jess earned the first place check worth $9,975, which boosts his total earnings to $51,548 for owner Marco Antonio Hernandez.
His race record now stands at three wins out of nine starts, including last year’s $51,332 Los Alamitos Juvenile Challenge, in which he went wire-to-wire with a 1 1/4-length winning margin of victory. He also finished fourth in the 2020 AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2.
Gustavo De La Torre bred Tres A Jess out of unraced Pure Ruby. Tres A Jess is her first winner from two starters. His second dam is lightly raced Pure Dazzle, who competed at Los Alamitos. His third dam is winner Pure Dash, who also com- peted strictly at Los Alamitos.
Tres A Jess traces to his fourth dam, three-time Champion Corona Chick who was also the 1997 AQHA Broodmare of the Year. Corona Chick is the dam of four-time Champion Corona Cash.
Shez Our Jess (Hez Our Secret-Jess Marcy) showed grit and determination to bank second place money for owner Angel Valenzuela. The Jim Crotts trainee had Michael Ybarra in the irons. The filly is a three-time winner at Lone Star Park, Turf Paradise and Arizona Downs.
Gotta Bad Habit (Favorite Cartel-Gotta Corona Habit) finished in third place under jockey Aaron Belloc for owner Melesio Arvizu and trainer Armando Castellanos. The gelding
is a wire-to-wire winner at Arizona Downs and was a finalist in the BNB Maiden Frolic at Weber Downs earlier this year.
Ole Town Road (Jesse James Jr-Stars In My Eye) followed in fourth place, and Arcana (Corona Cartel-Play Your Card) and Ms Cache Queen (FDD Dynasty-Queenly Walk) completed the order of finish. Deal A Corona and Our Darling Corona were scratched.
Arizona Downs Championship
REPUBLIC ANNE

Republic Anne scored her first stakes victory in the 440-yard $15,000 Arizona Downs Championship on Sept. 15.
Republic Anne loaded into the 3-post and when the gates opened, she got the first call. Under jockey Emilio Tapia, who rode her in her last out, they went wire-to-wire and crossed the line 3/4-length in front.
Trained by Jesus Olivas-Valenzuela, Republic Anne completed the distance in :21.678 to earn
a 93 speed index. The filly also earned the first place check worth $8,850, which increases her total earnings to $51,510 for owner Jose Antonio De Santiago. Her race record stands at four wins from fifteen starts, with a 2nd in the AQRA Turf Paradise Spring Derby and thirds in the Balloon City Stakes-G3 and Wayne Brasher Memorial.
Bobby D. Cox bred Republic Anne out of win- ner First Fancy Racy, who was a runner up in the Texas Classic Futurity-G1. She has produced one winner from three starters.
First Lady Perry (Mr Jess Perry-First Lady Amber) finished second under Kevin Carbajal for owner Scott McDaniel and trainer John Allred.
Shez Our Jess (Hez Our Secret-Jess Marcy) ran a steady and even race to bank third place money for owner Angel Valenzuela. The Jim Crotts trainee had Michael Ybarra aboard.
Valentin JQM (Separatist-Corona Perfection) was fourth and Fastrak Required (Walk Thru Fire-No Tools Required) was fifth. Golden Boy Gonza (Fast Prize Cartel-Dashways) and Gotta Bad Habit (Favorite Cartel-Gotta Corona Habit) finished in a deadheat for sixth and were followed by Boss Hos (BF Farm Boss-Sister Lucy TB) and Arizona Chrome (FDD Dynasty-One Flying Cookie) completed the order of finish. Tres A Jess was scratched.
