What Child is This Personal Reflection

Jesus comes into this world
unnoticed by all but a few
shepherds. But, once Jesus is
baptized and starts his ministry, he
barely has time to breathe because
of all the people who want to be
healed in some way. The
Confirmation students remember
the story of the man being lowered
through the roof because the crowd

was so big. They could not get to
Jesus. Everywhere Jesus went a
crowd followed and pressed him to
meet their needs. Like the prophet

pain and suffering to the cross
even as the crowds turned on him.
We are healed and made whole
because Jesus took all our sin upon
his shoulders.

Jesus also tells us to come to him
with our burdens and he will give
us rest. (Matthew 11:28-30).
