labor with Jesus. Even though Jesus
did not receive a warm welcome into
this world, he welcomes all, especially
the children, widows, and
marginalized of society (including his
band of disciples). Luke’s Gospel
really emphasizes this. So, as we
journey through the readings from
Luke this year, pay special attention
to how many different people Jesus
welcomes. Jesus opens the door and
says, “Come on in!"
