ALLEVIATING HUNGER IN SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA

2023 Gifts of Hope donations will provide food backpacks for families at Pyrtle
Elementary School and Morley Elementary School, both located in the
neighborhood of First Lutheran.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN GIFT HOPE!

$7.50. Provides 1 student with a
weekend food backpack.

$75. Provides 10 students with
weekend food backpacks.

$105. Provides weekend food
backpacks for 14 students and their
families.

$255. Provides food backpacks for a
student for 34 weeks.

HOW YOU CAN GIFT HOPE YEAR-ROUND!

Stay up-to-date on ways to advocate for hungry people in the United States and across
the globe. Excellent resources are available through Bread for the World www.bread.org,
ELCA Advocacy and ELCA World Hunger www.elca.org

Make a commitment to participate in Lincoln’s annual CROP Walk for Hunger in 2024.
Why not invite friends and family members to join you?
Add personal care items and shelf-stable healthy food for Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry
to your grocery list and leave them in the shopping cart at First Lutheran at your
convenience.
Share extra produce from next summer’s garden with community groups like Peoples’
City Mission or the Good Neighbor Center or add it to one of Lincoln’s Little Free Food
Pantries (3922 S. 20th, 1800 C St, 5601 Sunrise Rd.)
Double the batch of soup you’re making and share half with a friend or neighbor who
would enjoy home-cooking or freeze some for gifting later.
