WHY THIS GIFT MATTERS!
More than 8,000 people, including more than 3,800 children, receive assistance at
Lincoln’s Center for People in Need each month. The center’s annual Toyland distribution
program needs gifts for teens.
Teenagers experiencing poverty often grow up faster than their peers. If they are the
oldest, they may be a caregiver for younger siblings while their parents work.
Teens may feel they shouldn’t ask for things their classmates take for granted, like music
or dance lessons, playing sports or holiday gifts.
The simple act of funding gift cards can encourage and support youth and their families.
Giving generously reflects the reason for this season!
