hairdryers appliances to smartphones, many of the latest devices created in the
Electrical & Electronic sector capitalize on new generation plastics.
Electrical insulations: Plastics has good dielectric strength, arc resistance,
thermal performance and insulating properties offers resistance to mechanical
shocks and stress as well as flexibility and durability, making them ideal for vital
applications such as safe, reliable and efficient power supplies. Flame retardant
further makes them fire safe and ideal for use in wires, cables, sleeves and electrical
shielding products. Other applications include appliances and computer hosing,
electrical socket, switches, knob, others.
Semiconductor Industry - Semiconductors made from polymer materials are
becoming increasingly important for the electronics industry – as a basis for
transistors, solar cells or LEDs – showing important advantages when compared to
conventional materials. New plastics continue to replace metal parts for wafer
handling, bearing surfaces, processing vessels, parts carriers, and IC test
equipment sockets & handlers
Sports & Leisure: Plastics have revolutionised sports in recent years. From tracks
on which Olympic athletes pursue new records to shoes, clothing, safety
equipments (helmets, kneepads) and stadium construction (water and drainage
pipes, seats, roofing), modern sports rely on plastics. Theaters, theme parks ,
swimming pools, garden are all now unimaginable without Plastics.
Agriculture: A wide range of plastics are used in agriculture, including, polyolefin,
polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Ethylene-Vinyl Accetate Copolymer (EVA),
Poly-vinyl chloride (PVC), Polycarbonate (PC) and poly-methyl-methacrylate
(PMMA) finding applications in Green houses, Tunnels, Mulch films, Pond lining,
silage and others.
Barrier films are multi-layer films that have been designed to be impervious to gas
migration, moisture, Light and aroma through out the anticipated shelf life of the
packaged product. They are used for lamination and protective system
applications. The small size of the pores in these films prevents penetration of liquid
water, but the interconnected pore structure allows for transmission of water vapor.
Barrier films are durable and flexible, having excellent compatibility with variety of
products. They extend the shelf life and improve the hygienic conditions for
handling the packaged products. Applications in food packaging where moisture,
oxygen and odor barrier is essential. It is ideal for applications such as cheese
packaging, sausage chubs, and cap liners, moisture protection in health care and
pharmaceutical blister packaging and other industrial applications. They are also
valued in exotic military, aerospace, aircraft, and electronic applications.
Other films like Cellulose Acetate Films, Coextruded Films, Filament Films, Nylon
Films, PET Films, PTFE Films, Polycarbonate Films, Polyester Films, Protection
Films (VCI), PVC Films and other to suit the packaging requirements.
