includes grades with different levels of heat resistance, extending up to 203 °C.
The range of grades contains UV-stabilized and easy-release grades, also a
medical grade** is available. The product line further contains grades with different
       flowability.
Bayblend® is the trade name used by Bayer MaterialScience AG for its product line
of amorphous, thermoplastic polymer blends based on polycarbonate and
acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer (ABS) as well as the rubber-modified
polycarbonate and styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) blends. The blend
technology employed supplies products with an attractive combination of
mechanical, thermal and rheological properties. Particular mention should be made
of Bayblend®`s high heat resistance (between that of ABS and PC), its high impact
and notched impact strength, and its high stiffness and dimensional stability.
       The Bayblend® product range comprises:
       • Non re-inforced standard grades (T grades)
       • Non re-inforced flame-retardant grades (FR grades)
       • Mineral-filled grades
       • Glass fiber-reinforced T grades
       • Special-purpose grades for specific applications
Makroblend® is the brand name of polycarbonate and polybutylene terephthalate
(PBT) or PC and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) produced by Bayer
MaterialScience. Makroblend® is distinguished by its high toughness, even at low
temperatures, good chemical resistance, reduced susceptibility to stress cracking,
good paintability and low moisture uptake. Applications for Makroblend® are found
in the areas of automotive engineering, electrical engineering/electronics, lighting
technology and sports & leisure. The Makroblend® manufacturing units have been
certified to DIN ISO 9001 and 14001 by the responsible certification associations.
The Business Unit also markets polycarbonate sheets made of Makrolon® and the
polycarbonate films Makrofol® and Bayfol®. No matter which properties are
required, Bayer has the perfect solution to best meet the OEMs' needs. Bayer
MaterialScience has a long-standing reputation for combining products that
promise growth potential, first-class technologies and a constant stream of
innovations, all under one roof. Its portfolio comprises high-grade materials and
modern technologies that boost the growth of its application sectors, and develop
       and open up new markets.
