P. 28
Even so, some Wallaby thinking would be a good idea –
put your imagination to use decide if the obvious solution
is really the right one. What will be the result? What will
happen to everyone, and what will happen to your
friendships? When you think you have finally decided on
what to do, use a bit of Shark-thinking – is it worth the
risk?
So, what do you think is the best solution here?

Step 4. Do it! And see if it is working.
Problem 3
At your school, there is a group of parents who would like to see the school
teach circus skills, like trapeze and acrobatics, to develop their children’s
physical ability and give them new interests. There is another group who
think this would be terribly dangerous and would lead to accidents. The
teacher needs help to sort this out.
This was a real-life problem at a little bush school I worked with some time ago!
Step 1. Make sure you understand the problem
Let’s think about whose problem this is. It involves a lot of people. There are the
children and a lot of parents. The parents are split into two groups who have different
ideas on what is best for their children and the school. The teacher is in the middle of it
all and she is the one with the problem as she has to make a decision and try to keep
everyone happy. I think she needs our help, but where should we start?
