Chapter	5.	Your	turn

Have	you	had	problems	like	these	to	deal	with?	Maybe	you	would	like	to	think	up	your
own	problem.	It	could	be	something	from	your	imagination,	or	something	that	you	really

have	had	to	deal	with	in	the	past,	or	some	problem	that	you	are	dealing	with	right	now.

Write	it	down	now,	and	then	you	can	apply	the	animal-thinking	patterns	to	your	own

problem	as	well	as	the	ones	that	I	have	made	up.

Can	you	see	the	problem	clearly,	like	an	eagle?	Can	you	remember	what	caused	it,	like

an	elephant?	Maybe	you	can	use	the	help	of	others,	like	an	ant,	or	look	for	help	on	the
                 web,	like	a	spider.

                 Be	internet-wise!

While	the	internet,	or	the	‘web’,	can	be	really	useful	in	helping	to	find	information,	be

careful	if	you	do	use	it	–	not	everything	you	read	and	see	is	the	truth,	and	not	everyone
on	the	internet	is	good.	So	get	advice	from	your	parents	or	teacher	and	do	not	give	any
information	about	yourself	to	any	person	or	organisation	you	don’t	know	and	trust.

Once	you	have	clearly	mapped	out	the	problem	and	thought	about	some	ways	to	solve

it,	use	your	Wallaby-thinking	–	let	your	imagination	have	a	good	hop	around	from	one

solution	to	another,	thinking	them	through	until	you	decide	on	which	one	is	best	for	you

                 right	now.

And	that	is	what	‘Thinking	Like	a	Wallaby’	is	all	about.
