MOISTURE: Test all surfaces prior to painting using a moisture meter. Do not
apply paint unless moisture levels of the substrate are below the following:
Moisture content for masonry and stucco must not exceed 17%
Moisture content for exterior wood must not exceed 12%
Moisture content for interior wood must not exceed 8%
Part 3 – PAINTING SCHEDULE: WOOD AND METAL
A. Prepare, paint and finish all surfaces specified and agreed upon.
B. Provide paint finishes of even uniform color, free from cloudy or mottled
appearance. Properly correct all non-complying work to the satisfaction of the
Owner’s representative and the representative of the paint manufacturer.
C. Paint Application Finish Schedule:
1. Wood: Beams above garage doors, wood trim between windows.
Apply first coat Super Block primer, followed by one coat of Flex Patch.
1 Coat: 2585 Super Block Primer

2 Coat: 40253 Ultra Kote

Note: Apply Ultra Kote to a total dry mil thickness of 4 to 5 dry mils.
2. Metal: Enamel surfaces: Wrought iron, Metal garage doors and doors.
Spot prime repairs and patching with 561 Acrylic Metal Prime

1 Coat (Applied to 1.5 mils DFT) 5750 Weatherguard 100% Acrylic with
Urethane Semi-gloss Industrial Latex

2 Coat (If necessary): 5750 Weatherguard 100% Acrylic with

Note: Apply material at manufacturer’s recommended thickness of 4.4 mils
WFT or 1.5 mils DFT per coat to achieve best hide, durability, and protection.
3. Metal: Galvanized Gutters and Downspouts, Flashing,, Decorative Chimney
Caps, scuppers, Flashings, Metal Meter Boxes,
Spot prime repairs and patching with 561 Acrylic Metal Prime
1 Coat: 2790 Ultra Prime
