FIRE STATION
NO. 17
TIMBER MESA FIRE AND MEDICAL DISTRICT
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The Fire Station No. 17 project, built for the Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District, included the new construction
of a 13,638 square foot fire station, replacing an existing 5,457 square foot station, located in Show Low, AZ. The
facility houses three vehicle bays and six dorm rooms. The fire station was constructed on a slab-on-grade
concrete foundation, a masonry structural frame, an exterior of brick veneer and masonry, and an asphalt
shingle roof. The project also features a fitness room for firefighters, a medical exam room for public use, an
on-site water tank, a communications tower, a bio-kinetic septic system, an on-site propane tank for heating
and cooling, and wood-stained structural elements throughout the building. The Timber Mesa Fire Station No.
17 project now provides a modernized facility for firefighters in Navajo County.
