3. RULES AT WORK
It is not permitted for any colleague to attend work whilst under, or appearing to be under, the influence of either alcohol or drugs. Any breach of these rules will be treated as gross misconduct.
In exceptional circumstances your line manager may authorise the consumption of a minimum amount of alcohol at work. However, this must exclude people on duty and consumption must be kept to reasonable levels. Intoxication even under these circumstances will be treated as a disciplinary matter. It is company policy to perform a reasonable level of drug or alcohol testing on both an ad- hoc basis and in circumstances where it is deemed necessary to do so. Our drugs and alcohol policy is available from the people and training department.
3.5 Telephones
Personal mobile devices should not be carried whilst on duty except where provided by the company for work purposes. (In specific cases, the discrete carrying of a mobile telephone may be permitted but only with your line manager’s express permission). Where a mobile telephone is loaned by the client or Company for work purposes, no personal calls, messages or web-site access is allowed. Abuse of these rules will be treated as serious misconduct and any costs deducted from your pay. In an emergency, colleagues may be contacted at work by family or friends but outgoing personal telephone calls can only be made with your line managers permission. Any breach of these rules will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.
3.6 Personal Property
At Thomas Franks, we value our pleasant working atmospheres and do our utmost to ensure that people and their belongings are kept safe and secure. However, we cannot be held liable for any loss or damage of your belongings, so we strongly advise that any valuable or precious personal property is left at home. Any lost property should immediately be reported to your line manager. Likewise, any property found should be handed to your line manager for recording and safe keeping in line with the client’s policy on site. Retention of ‘found’ items is unfair to the bonafide owner and such behaviour will be treated as serious misconduct.
