Outdoor Engagement
Third Form Outdoor Education
Day: Thursday
Time: Period 6
Open to: Third Form
Selection: Compulsory
MIC: Mr R Dann
Description: A programme designed to encourage sufficiency and appreciation of
outdoor activities.
Skills learnt: Navigation and map reading, rope work, kayaking, climbing, camp
craft & leadership.
Combined Cadet Force (CCF)
Day: Thursday
Time: 3.45pm – 5.15pm
Venue: CCF Headquarters, Park Close
Open to: Fourth Form – Upper Sixth
Selection: Open – but students should have completed weapons handling training
on the A2 rifle.
MIC: Mr N Evans
Description: Military activities, adventure and leadership training. Two 48 hour
overnight exercises, range days and summer camp.
Skills learnt: A range of military skills as well as leadership.
