Board of Directors Meeting March 2017 - Key Messages
House Committee
The Food and Beverage team continue to prepare for the upcoming season. In early March Cherry Hill hosted a
group of ladies from the Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce for a luncheon. The 180 ladies were treated to a
wonderful day at the Club and in return rave reviews were sent back regarding both the service and quality of
food. It has been a great start. Perry and Chef Jason, along with their teams, look forward to providing a
wonderful culinary experience this season. As the to-do list is slowly getting shorter, there a few key items that
have been focused upon: menus are being prepared, key staff have been invited back while new recruits are
being sought after, cleaning the Clubhouse while touching up paint where needed and creating events to fill voids
in the Club calendar, etc. The House Committee will be meeting in April with the Senior Management Team to
finalize details for season that lies ahead.
Membership Committee
We are happy to report another 10 new Members had their first reading in March. To date we have welcomed 22
new or returning Members to Cherry Hill in 2017. The Membership Committee has also selectively targeted 15
more potential Members; they will be courted over the next month as the golf season gains traction. We are
continuing to build our Potential Members list but continue to require the assistance of every Cherry Hill
Member. A few key reminders of the program can be found below:
The easiest way to describe the Preferred Membership Program is ‘half dues for 2017 and if/when you
join the Club in July it is half initiation’
For past Members of Cherry Hill, the initiation portion of the Preferred Membership Program will be
waived
Under the Legacy Program that continues at the Club, children and grandchildren of Club Members are
not responsible for initiation but can take advantage of reduced dues of the Preferred Membership
Program
The Membership Committee has begun to identify Ambassadors who will gladly host potential Members for a day
at the Club once the season begins. A formal Prospective Member Day is scheduled for May 13 . To receive an
th
invite to this day the Membership Committee is asking that any identified potential Members names be submitted
to the Club office by April 15 . The Committees Ambassadors will be on-site to share the Cherry Hill experience
th
with the potential Members.
The Preferred Membership Program flyer has been forwarded to you along with these Key Messages. Please
make sure to forward the details to someone who you believe would share the same love you do for Cherry Hill.
Grounds Committee
The golf course has wintered well. The final blast of winter has set our opening date back but we hope to target a
date in early April. While some rain would be beneficial any deluges could set timelines back further. Spring
cleanup continues while the first cutting of the season is not too far off in the near future.
