Eighteen Strategies for dominating Elections

1. Gerrymandering – First and foremost, win the
gerrymandering battles. This term pertains to the

process of dividing a state, county, or an area into
election districts. This ultimately gives one political
party a majority, while concentrating the voter
strength of the other party into as few districts as
possible. All political parties engage in this tactic
when they are empowered to do so. However, the

Voting Rights Act of 1965 prohibits any redistricting
effort that limits minorities from gainfully
participating in elections.

Ideally, voter districts that are fairly drawn must
ensure that the overall number of minorities elected
correlates with their relative population percentage.

This has become a hot button of contention in many
areas. It yields an advantage for progressive
candidates who typically enjoy a far greater
percentage of minority votes. When contested in
