To refresh the fiscal year with the new closed period data you imported into Salesforce in the previous section:
1. Open the Excel file for the appropriate fiscal year that needs to be updated. If this is the first period for a fiscal year
imported in the previous step (i.e., no records for the fiscal year have already been exported from Salesforce to a
SharePoint file for the data model), a fiscal year actuals file for that fiscal year needs to be created first. See Creating a
Fiscal Year Actuals File for a New Fiscal Year later in this document for the steps necessary to create that new fiscal
year file and then skip down to the Republishing the Power BI Data Model section to continue.
2. In Excel, ensure you are logged into Salesforce through XL-Connector.
3. Place your cursor in the first cell in your Excel file and from the XL-Connector tab click Get Data (see screenshot
below, using FY 21 as an example). The Get Data dialog box will display the query for the data model columns for the
fiscal year file.
4. Ensure that the query matches what is shown below and that the proper fiscal year is displayed for your work and
then click the Execute button to refresh the data in the Excel file.
