You only need to perform this copy process one time to begin using the Finance team templates for the
reference guide. If the team updates an existing standard template, then the revised template would
need to be copied to your laptop’s Documents folder again using this same process.

UNDERSTANDING WORD PARAGRAPH SETTINGS (FT Title)

12BIf you have not used the Word Paragraph settings previously, several of them are incorporated into the Finance team’s
reference guide template styles. This section provides a brief overview of what several of the settings accomplish. (FT Body

• Space Before – sets the amount of blank space before/above a paragraph. Helpful on heading paragraphs so that there is
some extra blank (white) space above the paragraph (e.g., eliminates the need to add blank/orphan paragraphs above
the heading) (in the screenshot above, the space before for the paragraph is set to 0 pt – or no extra space before) (FT
