        WORD TEMPLATE FILES (FT Title)


        CREATING A PERSONAL TEMPLATE TAB (FT Heading)

        When you select File > New in Word, if you do not see a Personal tab as shown in Creating a New Reference Guide Document
        previously in this document, do the following to create that Personal tab: (FT Body 10.5)

         1.    Start a new (blank) Word document. (FT List Numbered – for all)

         2.    Select File > Save As.


         3.    In the Save as type dropdown, select Word Template (*.dotx). The file name is not important as long as you have
               selected to save it as a Word Template.

         4.    Ensure that the file location is “pointing” to Documents > Custom Office Templates (this is a folder in your laptop’s
               Documents folder specific to your user profile).

         5.    Click Save.

          6.   Since the Word Template you just created (saved) in your Custom Office Templates folder is not relevant, you may
               delete this file from Documents > Custom Office Templates to remove it from your list of personal custom templates
               that will display later.
