All purpose flour – 3 tbsp Brown sugar (packed) – 0.5 cup
Unsalted butter– 0.5 cup Apples – 8 (peeled, cored, sliced)
Water – 0.25 cup 9-inch crust for bottom
White sugar – 0.5 cup 9-inch crust – with lattice work
Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C (425 F). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir
in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring
to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
2. Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly.
Cover with a lattice work crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over
the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.
3. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to
175 degrees C (350 F). Continue baking for 35-40 minutes, till the apples
are soft.
4. Take out of oven and allow to cool before cutting into slices to serve.
