On May 31, Carrollton’s Class of 2002 received the
traditional welcome into the Sacred Heart Alumnae
Association made up of over 52,000 Sacred Heart alumna#
nationally and hundreds of thousands of women interna
tionally. Every May Carrollton alumnae return to the
school to attend the Alumnae Pin Ceremony. During this;
ceremony in Carrollton’s historic El Jardin Living Room,
seniors are pinned by an alumna, usually a relative or closi
friend, and are officially welcomed into Carrollton’s I
Alumnae Association as well as the national and interna-1
tional Sacred Heart Alumnae Associations. For many \
seniors this is a family affair as they are the second or third
generation of Sacred Heart alumnae in their family. The 1
keynote speaker Patricia Sanchez, a 1993 Carrollton
graduate who attended Harvard Law and is currently i
practicing law at Hunton and Williams, reminded them thaj
although they will be seeking new adventures and expand-!
ing their worlds, the relationships formed at Carrollton
would always be with them. Elizabeth Nuell, elected
alumna representative for the Class of 2002, thanked the
alumnae for their welcome and presented a time capsule
be opened at their five-year reunion.
