The VEX Robotics Comoetition is the ultimate STEM activity for middle and high school
students presenting engineering challenges in the form of games. Students build innovative:
robots, driven by remote coritfol and computer programming, to score the most points
possible. They learn many academic and life shills: critical thinking, problem solving and
worIcing productively with their teammates. This year the challenge was called "Skyrise." The
goal of the challenge was to attain a higher score than the opposing alliance by scoring your
colored cubes In floor goals, on posts or on your skyrise, by owning posts, and by building
        your “skyrise” sections.

The Carrollton VEX Robotics Team participated in a series ;pf state qualifying tournaments
throughout tne year, organized by different schools in South Florida, and earned the
opportunity to participate in the Florida State Championship. The team also competed in the
MiarriFDade County Fair and Exposition* where it won First Place in engineering design, and
Third Place in the overall tournament.
