The week that began on October
26th was nationally recognized as Red
Ribbon Week. Throughout the United
States, parents and students share
and promote this week dedicated to
drug awareness and prevention. The
Carrollton Community took the time
to reaffirm the importance of main
taining a drug-free life.
On Wednesday, October 28th, known
as Red Ribbon Day, Leslie Armstrong,
who has a Sunday morning talk show
on Zeta 4, cam e to the High School
and shared her personal experience
with drugs and alcohol. Jennifer and
Marion, both recovering alcoholics
from Alcoholics Anonymous, also
joined her in exhorting the importance
of this week.
Red Ribbons were distributed school-
wide. The Lower School wore their rib
bons the entire week, while the Mid
dle School decorated their classrooms
and m ade posters commemorating
this yearly event. Summarizing this
insightful week, Carol Cabezas stated,
"this m ade us think of how fortunate
we are to have this help and informa
tion, now!"
