“Where are we?” was senior Ally Prieto’s
expression, as she walked into the
Performing Arts Center on October 27,

2000, when the drama class, once again,
  hosted the annual Masquerade Ball.

  Although costumes ranged from butter
flies, hippies, and Power Puff girls, the

drama class transported the students back
to the Renaissance era with their cos

  tumes and decorations.
This year, the SWAT club (Students
  Working Against Tobacco) provided the

dance with music from BET’s Planet
Groove. The DJ kept the crowd moving

with popular hits and dancing contests.
In the end, the drama class performed a

  traditional waltz. Senior Veronica
Alvarez added, “Masquerade Ball was a

great success. It is too bad that it had to
  be my last one.”
