A Day of
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was celebrated on both campuses
on November 21, 2000. The Primary students
dressed up as pilgrims, Indians, and immigrants
and had a luncheon on the Duchesne Campus.
Two students read original poems thanking God
for all the blessings received.
The second grade students created “Molly
Dolls” to celebrate this day. Molly dolls come
from a story about a Russian immigrant girl who
could not afford to buy a doll, so her mother made
one to look like the little girl herself. Second
graders also thought that there is more to
Thanskgiving than turkey, pie, and dolls, as
second grader Anna Dimitrijevic stated, “The best
part about Thanksgiving is getting together with
my relatives and family.”
The High School rejoiced in thanksgiving by
having a traditional feast. Each club was assigned
to bring in a dish such as apple pie, turkey, and
sweet potato. All of the food was immediately
devoured, and senior Cristina Lago commented,
“The smell of the foods from the feast overpow
ered the PAC, and it was absolutely delicious!”
