A Day
With Mom
Throughout the year, the students enjoyed many
special moments with their mothers. In the High
School, a celebration was held, very fittingly, on
the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Decem
ber 8, 2000. On this special day, the drama and
dance classes performed in honor of their moth
ers. Sister Barbara Rogers, RSCJ, was the keynote
speaker for the event and eloquently spoke about
the special bond between a mother and daughter.
The event concluded with a Mass held at the
Church of St. Hugh.
At the Junior High, the students and their
mothers spent quality time together by having a
picnic on the lawn. Many of the mothers and
daughters played the game “Who knows your
daughter best!”
The Montessori, Primary, and Intermediate
Schools prepared for their mother-daughter events
by making arts and crafts. Along with that,
mothers and daughters enjoyed breakfast.
Appreciating the special bond between a
mother and daughter is the core of these events
that take place throughout the year. In this
fashion, they offer a way for mothers and daugh
ters to come together and express their love for
each other.
