MC I disagree, if we unravel all of this back and take the position that his insurance claims
arose from a fundamental dishonesty, then he would lose the whole lot. I think the
money should be paid back to the insurance companies, neither of them should keep
it as it was obtained in a fundamentally dishonest way. My big fear is that there could
be some agreement between Louise and Sig and that subsequently the insurers could
reclaim the money. That could happen.

MF If Louise gives the proceeds of crime back to Sig, she can still have a claim made against
                      her?

MC Yes, they can still do that.

LS What if I give it back to the insurance company? If they then agree that it is fine, they
                      can pass it to Sigve.

MC We've got to tell the truth, we have to get him to tell the truth.

MF I can't advise on how insurance fraud might be unravelled or the tracing of
potential.proceeds of crime. That's not my area. I can only advise in relation to family
law. I would want a good a junior criminal barrister to advise on those issues - to set
out how it works and what it might mean for Lou

MC No, I don't want any more barristers. He needs to give some assurance that the
money is kosher. I am not going to fund Louise in holding on to money if I think it will
be dragged back from her. One option is to push Sig to get all of the evidence to us
and then we can discuss it with the insurance company. I don't think AIG will reopen
the case as they are too embarrassed by it. I don't think he will have disclosed his pre
existing medical condition to Hiscox and so that claim may also be false.

LS Diamond will be the ones that are pissed off though.

MC The people who adjusted the claim at AIG will be embarrassed and will not want to
open it up again. They paid out on the basis of a life-long illness. It's very dangerous
for Louise, we can't assume that the AIG claim is genuine or that AIG won't come
                      back.

LS I think it is unlikely that anyone will look at this again, the world has turned upside
down since then and there have been load of insurance claims.

MC It is best to be absolutely honest.

LS So we need him to confirm before 27 July that the funds are I 00% above board.

MC If Sig's claims are genuine then we can discuss what to do.

LS The judge in January didn't care about where the funds came from.

MC What was his intention - that was not a question the judge addressed.

LS Who's to say another judge wouldn't pick it up?
