SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW ENTRANCE TO ASHBOURNE PARK
FOR CONSIDERATION BY APOA AND DEVELOPERS
One solution would be separate Ashbourne Park from the proposed development by cutting
a new entrance from the north eastern end of our car park directly onto the A22. However,
it is likely that West Sussex County Council, Highways would oppose this on safety grounds,
notwithstanding its glowing report supporting AHL's current application.
Thus, the alternative of cutting a new entrance from the north eastern boundary of our car
park to connect to the drive from Pips and Pips Cottage is being explored.
Pauline has spoken to the current owners of WH who are amenable to the idea of a separate
entrance for us and will use their best endeavours to influence AHL.
We believe the following solution is viable and beneficial for all concerned:

Pips drive
• AHL grants us the area (F) bounded by an orange line in exchange for our
surrendering our interests in our existing entrance B and the adjacent land;
• We remove the existing gates (B) and re-site them as shown by the purple arrows;
• We extend the existing wooden fence to enclose areas C, D and F and landscape
internally;
• The existing entrance to PIPS is widened and a looped drive cut through the fence at
C
the north eastern boundary of our car park (alongside o n the plan).
• The area F is paved to allow large trucks (e.g. waste collection) to turn;
• Additional parking space for visitors is created at C in front of the replaced gates.
