We chose achilled Pouilly-Fuisse from aliquor store on Court St. after alively debate with the proprietor. We then proceeded to the AtlanticHouse, 144 Atlantic Ave. on thesouth side of the street betweenClinton and Henry Sts. We hadreserved a table just in case it wasas crowded during the day as itusually is a night. That provedunnecessary.Atlantic House%u2019s luncheon menulists as varied a cuisine as itsnight time counterpart. While therestaurant specializes in DownHome Middle Eastern Cooking, itis also famous for its continentalfare, explained in part by the factthat its genial host, MohammedAlmonstaser, was once a chef atFour Seasons. For starters one of us tried theTarte a l%u2019Oignon, a quiche really, which had feathery pastry and anexquisite filling. Also in the continental vein, we tried the Crepe auPoulet as an appetizer and found itlight, subtle and a good luncheonselection. It has become a nighttime ritewith us to order either the HommosBi Tahina%u2014mashed chick peas insesame butter%u2014or the BabghnoughBi Tahina%u2014mashed eggplant inz tW*MA 4 97745 TO 10 P.
