Hitzig, administrator of Doctors On Call.In announcing the quarterly treatment figures for the area, Hitzig indicated that upper respiratory infections, 204 of them, were the most frequent causes for DOC house calls to area homes. The remainder of the calls were necessitated by a variety of ailments including gastroenteritis, pharyngitis, three cases diagnosed as depression, and one nosebleed.Area residents with medicalcomplaints that will not permit them to travel to a doctor%u2019s office, or who, in the case of a night time illness, cannot wait until morning to see a physician, can phone Doctors On Call at 854-2323 to obtain assistance.A central dispatcher relays the patient%u2019s information to a roving DOC physician who will often call the patient first to determine if the problem can be solved by over-thephone advice. If so, that advice is given free of charge.
