First Annual Com viilioii

                       P r e s i d e n t S’IRong: Have you an\thing to s u r e s t ?
M r. F erx ley : There is one subject I would like you to
provide for, and that Is in connection with our Association in
                  regard to this catalogue proposition.
It seems to me if the Convention will go to the extent of
appointing a Committee on the catalogue question it might he
possible to add your Committee to our Committee in handling
this. If you think you are not being affected by the catalogue
house, just get a catalogue and go through i t : you will find a vast
number of lines which you handle are quoted and quoted very
near your cost. If you have a Committee of your Association
which will take particular notice, I believe the time will come this
year when that Committee can do you some good.
                        M r. S t r e l i x g e r : I hope that Committee will be appointed.
Last year we brought it up, and I think we were well assured that
it was a matter which would become serious before long. I think
we should take it in hand very promptly, if we have the co-opera
tion of the National Hardware Association.
                        M r. B r i o x : I move that it be referred to the Grievance
                  Committee.

                        M r. M c D o w e l l: I have been serving on the Grievance
Committee, but have met but two of the members. One of
them wrote last week that he would resign from the Committee.
W e have not had anything to do. but if we have anything to do
                  we will attend to it.

                        M r. P a t t i s o x : I think the Executive Committee should
                  appoint that Committee.
                        P r e s id e n t S t r o n g : Tt seems to me a Committee might be
appointed specially for it by the Executive Committee.
                        M r . S t r e i . i x g e r : T w i t h d r a w r a y m o t i o n .
It is moved and seconded that the Executive Committee
appoint a Committee to consider the catalogue house question.
                   ( arried.
                        P r e s i d e n t S t r o n g : Our Bv-Laws do not provide for a
Manufacturers’ Committee. The original intention was that there
should be a small tool committee. The name of that committee
will be accordingly changed to the Small Tool Committee.
