P r e s id e n t S t r o n g : Yes, it is a part of ottr By-Laws that
other nominations can be made.
M r. S t r e l i n g e r : I move that the nominations he closed.
P re s id e n t S t r o n g : It is moved and seconded that the
nominations for President, two \ ice Presidents and two members
of the Executive Committee be closed.
Carried unanimously.
M r. P attiso n : I move that the Secretary be instructed to
cast the unanimous vote of the Association for the officers named.
The motion is seconded and carried.
S e c r e t a r y A n d e rso n : Mr. President, the vote of the
Association has been cast as directed.
P re s id e n t S t r o n g : The Secretary will read a resolution
handed him.
S e c r e t a r y A n d erso n : “W hereas, Mr. T. James Fernley has
upon this and previous occasions given us generously of his
valuable experiences in organization work,
“Therefore be it resolved that the thanks of this Association
be extended to Mr. Fernley for his attendance, and that we give
to him the assurance of our earnest appreciation of the intelligent
and helpful advice we have received from him, and express the
hope that we may effectively co-operate with the great organiza
tion he so efficiently represents.
M r. B ro w n : I move that the resolution be unanimously
adopted.
P r e s id e n t S t r o n g : It is moved and seconded that it be
unanimously adopted. Let us have a rising vote. Carried.
M r. F e r n i.e v : At this late hour T will not detain you. T
do very much appreciate the tribute you have paid the National
Hardware Association, whose humble servant 1 have been for a
number of years, and whose servant I hope to be.
W e failed to carry as many points as we wanted to because
we did not act in concert until we formed an Association— as in
yhucks. When your Association gets a differential on these, our
Association will reap the benefit of it also.
I want to say one thing, and 1 say it truthfully, that 1 have
